Daily Inspiration: Meet Pamela Curry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pam Curry.

Pam, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My business evolved out of a passion for flowers and design. After a 20 year career of raising children & teaching in the fitness industry, I arrived at an intersection in my life – a “second chapter”. The opportunity to follow my floral dreams became a reality when a family member asked me to design floral for their wedding. The process terrified me, but there was something exhilarating about the creative process. I did one wedding and I was hooked! Over the past decade, my business has continued to evolve and diversify. 2021 was “the year of yes!” It was exhausting, but validated what I love about my industry and how I’d like to grow in the future.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
CS Lewis said it best: You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream

I work hard – in my personal life and professional life – but it was a challenge not to let fear win when I started my business. Self doubt should never be the reason you don’t reach outside your comfort zone and take a shot at something new. I truly believe that we can reinvent ourselves at any point in our life and it’s never too late to realize a dream. My faith is the driving force in my life and it has guided me in every step of this journey. I was blessed to have the support of my family and a community that was willing to let me be a part of their celebratory moments. And to me, that is a dream come true.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I love my job! It may be cliche to say, but finding something you’re passionate about doesn’t really feel like work! Every event is so meaningful and each aspect of floral & event design allows me to cultivate relationships and share my love of the creative process. Having an opportunity to design an event – from the beginning to end – is so rewarding. I love that I get to play a small role in creating memories. Flowers are a happy business! Beyond event florals, I love sharing my expertise with people through educational workshops. Design workshops are the result of the “yes” of 2021. Creative outlets are such a fun way to spend time with friends and an opportunity to meet new friends!
