Daily Inspiration: Meet Lauren Gray

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Gray.

Hi Lauren, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always loved being creative- it’s my drive. I’m a born and raised Florida girl who moved from the swamps to the Midwest during the summer of 2019 and decided to take the plunge and build my dream career.

I started as a brand ambassador for a local boudoir photographer, lastphoto.kc, and soon became her resident makeup artist and best friend. She encouraged me to keep learning and build my own business. In October 2020, I started Wild Fyre Co. and grew from only offering makeup services to clients and other photographers, to adding creative luxury portrait sessions.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not always been smooth! Like many others, COVID-19 was one of the main reasons I started my business. I lost my job in early 2020 and made the decision to build as much as I could while I had the free time and resources.

Since I knew many others had been in the same position of adjusting to the new normal, a large portion of my business was built on networking and building a community. Currently, our women’s group on Facebook has almost 1k women and I couldn’t be happier!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Wild Fyre Co specializes in bringing creative visions to life and creating an unforgettable experience. Our mission is to build genuine connections with our clients that last beyond the session itself and promote body positivity, a zest for life, and building yourself into the person you’ve always wanted to be.

WFC also offers sessions for maternity, high school seniors, couples, and weddings. Our sessions begin with professional hair and makeup, with a side of compliments and laughs. Your session is custom planned just for you! Don’t know how to pose or dress? You’re covered every step of the way.

This season, Wild Fyre Co has been spending most of our time in the water and exploring nature. Currently, we are working on Halloween-style sessions! Whether you’d like a witchy-themed session, wearing your favorite cosplay or costume, or you want to go full out with body painting, prosthetic pieces, or fake blood, we are here to make your fantasy come to life.

Life is short, and getting out of your comfort zone does so much to benefit your life! I want to know you, know your story, and support your journey. You deserve to feel beautiful, included, and empowered. It’s what I live for!

When my clients come to me after a session and tell me how much their experience has made a difference in the way they have been viewing themselves and their life, it reminds me that I’m doing the right thing. Making a difference while doing what I love means everything to me.
