Rising Stars: Meet Charlie Hutchison

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charlie Hutchison.

Hi Charlie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always loved the outdoors. My childhood was spent in the woods and on the trails through vacations and Scouting.

As I got older, that passion continued through more extensive traveling. I wanted to share those magnificent adventures with those around me and the best way to do that was through photography. At that point, I picked up a camera and taught myself how to become a photographer, focusing mostly on nature and landscape.

My motto is, “there’s a lot of beauty in the world, I just take pictures of it.” Ever since I’ve continued to try to capture the amazing views and the small beauties in life while increasing my expertise to portraiture to capture the family smiles as well.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being self-taught, there are always a few bumps in the road. You learn something new every time you’re shooting. You don’t know what you don’t know until you need to know it!

That being said though, you roll with it – continue to learn and view every shoot as a learning experience. Having that mentality keeps things laid back and flowing smoothly.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a side hustle, Charlie Hutch Photography specializes in all aspects of photography.

My main focus is and always will be nature and landscape photography. I love capturing the true beauty of nature and sharing that with those around me. However, with the recent birth of my son, Bennett, I’ve gotten more into portraiture as his contagious smile is what I want to share.

I’m most proud of the memories that I’ve made while exploring my photography… I’ve got to witness some truly awe-inspiring sites and looking at my photos reminds me of those amazing times.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Making someone’s day.

Life is measured by what you can give to others. If you can make someone’s day, every day, that that’s a pretty successful life.
