Life & Work with Taylor Burris

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Burris.

Taylor, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Taylor Burris and my partner in business, and in life, is James Spikes III. We met in Atlanta after graduating from Morehouse College and Spelman College. We are both huge advocates for everything art, entertainment, and community service. Upon graduation, we started individual businesses focused on branding, digital design, illustration, personal assistance, and more.

On top of running my own business, I spent much of my time in the entertainment field where I either worked with or interviewed actors, musical artists, producers, etc. such as Mulatto, Viola Davis, Spice the Queen of Dance Hall, Ernie Johnson Jr., T.C. Carson, Alexander Skarsgard and more. In addition to this, I also worked in radio and was an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

James, in addition to working his business, specialized in illustration and had extensive experience in community and local business engagement. He’s worked with an array of community service organizations including Harvesters Community Food Network, Kennesaw State University, Morehouse College, and Cobb County Parks and Recreation,

Long story short we worked hard to get to where we are today. Due to COVID, we decided it was best for us to move to the Midwest. After settling in Kansas City we realized how much our businesses overlapped and partnered to produce IRIS Creative Projects Agency.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Our journey has been amazing so far. COVID has forced people to sit at home and bring to light their inner creativity. Therefore, so many new small and large-scale businesses and those harnessing their own creativity have popped up. By word of mouth and from a few articles written on us, clients have continuously come in since we began IRIS.

Many have come to us to consult them on what they need to get their business off the ground or to refine the image of their individual brand or business. After the consult, we produce outstanding designs for them whether it be billboards, advertisements, press kits, websites, comics, moving graphics, or anything in between.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
IRIS harnesses Universal Creativity to produce practical solutions for businesses, individual brands, families, corporations, and anyone who desires to bring a creative project to life.
