Life & Work with Casey Haase

Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Haase.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In high school, I started my love for health and wellness, in fact I struggled secretly with anxiety and panic attacks and naturally just used lifting weights as a way to cope without sharing my internal struggles with anyone. I then went on to doing marriage and children, finding my own health and wellness getting kicked to the side like most moms. Then anxiety and panic attacks creeped back into my life. After giving birth to my second child, I decided it was time to take my 18 yr old dream of owning a small gym and make it a reality. Focusing on helping women make their physical and mental health a priority.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Opening a gym right before the pandemic made things interesting, but I’m a naturally optimistic person. So learning new things like creating an online program, using technology to provide classes virtually, and showing support when you couldn’t be around people physically made the journey exciting. Struggles always include in a gym industry of that consistent battle of comparing yourself to others in the industry. I also think that’s why I was able to open a gym later in life – I’m able to have better self-awareness, boundaries, and I’ve really worked on myself individually. So you practice what you preach.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Beyond Fitness provides small group workout classes that include TRX Suspension Training, bootcamp, yoga, dance fitness and private personal training. We want our members to have the personal training experience without the personal training price point. We focus on creating relationships and connecting women with resources. So while yes, I have a gym, my business model is what is really good for the individuals. So sometimes that connecting with opportunities outside of gym. I also think that’s what sets us apart from other gyms, we want to provide you with an unconditional support whether your at our gym or somewhere else. We strongly believe in supporting other local health and wellness industries throughout the KC Metro.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I think being an entrepreneur is risky. You have no idea if people will be open to your concept, you are solely invested into the business and it can feel heavy if it doesn’t work out. When I look at my past, it just makes sense that I would open a gym and go for it. I’ve always been one to do things against the grain.

Pricing:

  • Class Pass Monthly $95
  • New Member Private Training Sessions – 3 for $99
