Rising Stars: Meet Nathan Bennett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathan Bennett.

Hi Nathan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I do graphic design and photography. I started doing photo manipulation (design) and photography when I first got a smartphone like 12 years ago. I would have many different apps to edit my photos and make cool graphics and I just stuck with it. Eventually, I upgraded to an actual computer and camera and have been doing both ever since! I enjoy both a lot!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say it’s been pretty smooth doing both photography and design! I went to college for a few years for design and ended up dropping out because it wasn’t for me. I also moved to LA for 2 years to follow my dreams of doing design and photography out there. I moved out there with no job or place to live and there were many challenges with that but I always figured it out and enjoyed the experiences and connections I made out there! When covid started and we were all quarantine that is when my photography really slowed down. With not being able to meet up and shoot all the time it was hard creatively and I shot photos less and less. So, during the pandemic, I definitely started doing a lot more design which has been a blessing in its self!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a portrait photographer that loves color and also a graphic designer that loves spreading positivity! I’m most proud that I’m able to be able to freelance and work for myself just from my art. I recently got my own artist collection with CASETiFY phone cases with my design work and that was huge for me as well! I’d say the thing that sets me apart from others is the vibrant colors that you can find in both my photography and design!

How do you think about happiness?
A cliche answer to this is ‘Life’. Life makes me happy; my life makes me happy. Why? Because I choose to live it to the fullest and do everything that I want to. I wanted to backpack Asia for a month, I did it. I wanted to move to LA, I did it. I wanted to live in a van and do van life, I’m doing it. I’m not one to always wonder “what if?” I just do it because life is going to keep going whether you decide to do something or not, and it might be too late by the time you choose to actually do it. I’m very blessed with the support I have from my family and friends and that support has always been there. I’ve done a lot in my 25 years. Best way to be happy is to just keep pushing positivity and being positive myself. Never have had a good day when I chose to be negative. Be positive attract more positivity, be negative attract more negativity, it’s your choice!
