Conversations with Brittany Ward and Bayley Callahan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Ward and Bayley Callahan.

Hi Brittany and Bayley, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are sisters who love fashion. We both loved following along other fashion blogs! One day, our mom, who went to college to study fashion, said “Why don’t you girls start your own blog?” The rest is history! We decided on the name “wheatnsea” to represent Brittany living in Kansas and Bayley living in Manhattan Beach. We started the blog to have fun and to see if we could benefit from it in some way, but now we have different goals and dreams for the blog! We hope that one day we can make a living from the blog as it would be the ultimate job!! We both love every aspect of the blog, from creating content to shopping to sharing our finds! We feel like we were meant for this! Most importantly, we love helping other women feel more confident through what they choose to wear! It’s so empowering seeing our friends and followers wear something that we inspired them to wear and to feel more confident! We love that part the most!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s definitely not a smooth road! The competition is fierce!! We feel like it’s such a fun job to have that everyone wants to try it!! It’s also 100% more time-consuming than one might imagine! Balancing motherhood, Bayley coaching tennis/Britt being a preschool teacher and then blogging is tough because it’s hard to find the time each day. We keep finding the time, though, because we love blogging and inspiring others! We love having this creative outlet to share our ideas and shopping finds with others!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We focus primarily on women’s fashion! We love creating outfits and showing our followers how we create outfits and where they can shop to buy the same outfit! We are known for loving monochromatic fashion looks, being relatable (and a little funky/not so relatable at times… Bayley is more of a classic style while Brittany tends to be more flamboyant), we show the same look but on both of us so that our followers get two perspectives, we shop our own closets and show how we create outfits using what’s already in our closet, we show our inspiration pics from magazines/other bloggers and then show how we create outfits ysukng inspo pics! Lastly, we are definitely known to bring some humor into our follower’s lives. We like to be honest and have fun and our followers seem to really enjoy our silly side as well! What sets us apart from other blogs is that we are sisters with two different styles so our followers get two perspectives. Our followers also get to see style trends from the Midwest to the West Coast! Lastly, our followers know that we are going to be real and show real-life too which is often humorous! We are most proud of ourselves for never giving up and not worrying about what others think. When you post pictures of yourself daily, it’s easy to feel embarrassed but we have pushed through that and now set up our tripod in the middle of the public to create content!

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Ha! No, we need to do better at this! We are both really good at winging it but need to continue researching ways to be successful! For now, we are just trying to continue being our goofy selves while sharing our fashion finds 🙂
