Today we’d like to introduce you to Avenue Blue Kc. 

Hello Avenue Blue Kc, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
We are the women of Avenue Blue Events KC! We are a woman-owned full-service event planning company based out of Kansas City. We offer expertise in wedding styling & design, professional vendor coordination services and ensure that we put care, attention to detail & lots of love into every aspect of our client’s events. We were so humbled when asked to share our story for VoyageKC Magazine and can’t wait to give you a little inside to who we are. We started Avenue Blue in January of 2021. All three of us share the same passion for planning, design & helping others accomplish their dreams, so when we decided to go for it and start our company, we knew we found our calling. Although we all share the same goal, bringing our clients’ vision to life, we have different expertise’s that really make us the dream team. Alexa has studied and specializes in interior designer, photography and is our all-around design & architect guru. When it comes to attention to detail, she doesn’t miss a beat. Her beautiful creative mind can make any room feel inventive, fresh & elegant. Ashleigh is precise, organized, and thrives when it comes to all things planned! She is driven, motivated to help others & when you are working with her you always know she will get the job done. She coordinates all our vendors at events and ensures everything will run smoothly from top to bottom. Megan is our go-to girl when communicating with our couples! She is by your side every step of the way & ensures all their needs are met. She is personable, optimistic and can turn up the energy in any situation. As a team of 3, we feel that there is nothing we can’t accomplish. We absolutely LOVE representing Kansas City, Small Owned Businesses & WOMEN entrepreneurs. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When we started our company in January of 2021, we were in the thick of Covid and naturally, people were scared. We knew everyone had pushed back wedding and event dates and honestly were not sure if our company would really take off. We kept pushing forward, advertising, doing styled shoots, connecting with different local vendors, and being active on social media, and eventually it started paying off! We are so proud of our first year in business and overcoming the obstacles of this pandemic. 

As you know, we’re big fans of Avenue Blue Events KC LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
When you think of an event planner, you don’t usually think of a team of 3. We knew that when we all came together, we would be much stronger as a team than we would be alone. We are all independent and talented women who bring something completely different to the table but with the same goal in mind. We knew having a team would not only enhance our ability to help more people but also that we could connect with a wider variety of people. We all come from a unique and different backgrounds than each other so it’s really fun to see who will connect the most with the vision of our client and let them take the lead. We didn’t initially intend on specializing in only weddings but it really has become our thing. We just love being able to spend one of the most important days with our couple and make sure that it is as special as they dreamed of. There really isn’t anything we wouldn’t do to go above and beyond for our couples. 

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
HOW BOUT THEM CHIEFS. Haha, we are only kidding, kind of. But Kansas City holds a super special place in our heart. You can go 10 miles south and see some cows and 10 minutes north to see skyscrapers. Our city has evolved and grown so much and it is so cool to see how many people enjoying what we have in the heart of KC. Not trying to be biased but the people of Kansas City are some of the kindest, most creative & interesting people! We love our city.
