Hi India, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
January 2021, I had a business idea to open a selfie studio and event space and I couldn’t shake it – I literally thought about this business venture day and night. With this, I knew I needed to educate myself on entrepreneurship and how to start a business correctly so I applied to participate in EBB (Entrepreneur Business Basics) 12-week program.

In this program, I learned the foundational knowledge to taking my business idea and turn it into a reality. From there, I inquired into space at Zona Rosa and was fortunate to be granted to participate in their pop-up program that supports local small business owners. From there, it was a matter of taking all of my ideas that kept me up at night early 2021 and executing with design and creativity. We opened Memorial Day weekend and it’s been a blast seeing Kansas Citians having fresh, novel fun in our space!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has been fairly smooth since I’ve been surrounded by supportive family, friends, community leaders and other entrepreneurs in the city. I think the biggest struggle has been adapting to entrepreneurship and learning all the ins and outs of being a successful, sustainable business. To combat this, I strive to surround myself with people that can excel at the areas that may not be my strength and continue to learning and receive mentorship.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Fresh Factory KC is a social selfie attraction (selfie studio) and event space located in Zona Rosa. We offer a one-hour selfie experience where guests can take unlimited photos, videos and experience fresh, novel fun! In addition, we’re the perfect place for birthdays, events and celebrations of all kinds!

We have more than a dozen selfie sets that encapsulate our fresh identity and brand. For instance, our “Fresh Prince” room gives off Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, 90s sitcom vibes with a graffiti wall designed by local artist @kid_lane, a basketball hoop and balls, a royal throne chair and of course, a ring light for the best selfies!

Our sets will change every few months around seasonal events and holidays to keep the aesthetic fresh for new photos and videos.

Our space is ideal for anyone! We celebrate encourage our guests to be their authentic selves and experience joy whether they come alone or with a group of friends. Guests can utilize our space for pure fun and selfies and for even more creative or professional opportunities such as music videos, headshots, family portraits, podcast recordings, etc.

Even more, with 5,000 sq ft of fun we can host parties of all kinds, showers, networking events, fashions shows, fitness classes, educational workshops and more!
