Meet Keisha Brooks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keisha Brooks.

Three weeks after Keisha and her husband had their third child. She got the call telling her that her father had died while he was visiting Haiti. After they laid him to rest, Keisha was overwhelmed with sadness yet she felt like his spirit was with her. Keisha reminised about  living with her parents before they divorced and the emotional, financial, spiritual, and physical abuse that occurred as a result of being raised in a Christian and Muslim household with no guide of what alignment was. One thing she always remembered is her father telling her she would be a millionaire one day. Eventually Keisha moved from culturally diverse Boston to racially divided Kansas City with her mom and brother.

Keisha adjusted to her new life and discovered the desire to be a lawyer in debate club. She also committed to being a young woman of Faith and was determined to be a leader in her community. Keisha would meet her husband, a military man, while she was in school studying to be a forensic scientist at Columbia College. She intended to pursue law after her degree, but the love she had for this man was different, and struck her as an overachiever. Keisha has always desired to be famous so she could share her story with other women desiring a happier lifestyle. She worked to overcome her emotional brick wall and to trust her potential to trust others. Keisha’s grief over her father’s death brought up old wounds that Keisha worked through for over a year and a half. She wasn’t able to function in her role as “support” to her husband in their real estate business. She realized to grow and excel to the woman she is today, she would learn to be a partner, mother, and entrepreneur by being resourceful and establishing a strong circle. Presently Keisha has built a six-figure business in short-term rentals, become a #1 best-selling author, and she helps other businesses with their branding through consulting and social media, all while being an amazing wife and mother of four beautiful girls..

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
If it was a smooth road, all of us would be great at it, with no flaws living our best lives 365 days a year. There have been many struggles or more like obstacles to my success. Being a military wife, I have moved to five different states in 10 years. That has brought about me having to consistently reset and adjust. With the reset came child-birth, a loss of a parent, and a pandemic. Like a whole global pandemic. The true value that I thought I knew in people has shifted, and I am more mindful than ever to make choices NOT wearing my emotions, but thinking a little more analytical than logical, and I can be more logical and optimistic. My relationships have been tested, and some have disappeared on their own, while others I am learning another phase of myself and others that I choose to keep close to me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Presently, I help other people create a brand for themselves through social media marketing and website design. I absolutely LOVE doing this, and have helped several non for profits organizations, and independent business owners. I have a natural thing for detail, and so usually if a person can effectively explain their vision to me, I can present it back to them in color. Most people are gray when they first start to share what they are wanting to share with the world. This has open the door for me meet people all across the country.
