Hidden Gems: Meet Kondra Gibson-Dingle of My Diva Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kondra Gibson-Dingle.

Hi Kondra, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started selling handbags and accessories online in 2008. In 2011, I had a few ideas for t-shirt designs but wasn’t able to find a manufacturer locally to assist. I started doing the research myself and after a few videos and online classes, I bought my first cutter and heat press and the rest is history.

By 2017 what was just a side hustle had turned into a very busy business. In March of that year, I decided to leave my job as a Recruiting Manager and pursue the growth of My Diva Boutique full time.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Our biggest challenge has been determining when to make the move from online only to a small boutique space and/or studio space as we have now outgrown the home-based business model.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My Diva Boutique is an online fashion boutique that specializes in custom “bling” apparel and accessories. From trendy glitter, tees to head-turning dresses and fab accessories. Our motto is “why fit in when you can stand out.”

Our brand caters to women who love to feel empowered in what they wear.

The quality of our products and our customer service is top-notch. We offer apparel and accessories with a message.

Not only do we offer fabulous apparel to our fashionistas, we are also a licensed vendor for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. which I am also a member of. So we keep our Fashion Divas and Sorority Divas with the most fabulous apparel and accessories.

How do you define success?
I define success by the accomplishment of goals. Whether that is a financially or opportunity for growth in my business.
