Our story begins with our grandma Almeda, a mother of three in rural Missouri, with a cheeky wit and a resilient spirit who believed in caring for her loved ones by eating the “right foods”. When impacted by food industrialization, Almeda applied her signature red lipstick and set out to find a sustainable solution for her family. She planted gardens in her backyard and grew organic produce to change the way they ate. It was a simple yet significant solution.

Now, after five generations of dynamic women who’ve lived the Almeda lifestyle, nourishing their loved ones with a nutrient-rich diet, Almeda’s descendants, Stacy and Kylie, are taking a pioneering approach to holistic health. The Almeda approach fuses modern-day science with a timeless understanding of what our bodies need to feel vibrant. Taochemy
After years of work with private clients, large organizations, and treating the underserved, Stacy found the long-term benefits of five-point acupuncture to be consistent in everyone she worked with, especially when enhanced with nutrition, breathing, and other embodiment tools.

What she didn’t see was an easy way for the everyday person to access this form of healing. With the high levels of mental and physical stress in our modern lives, she thought, shouldn’t everyone take a deep breath, look within themselves, and reconnect with the world?

It was this question that drove her to begin the Taochemy journey. Guided by a blend of Taoist philosophies of bodily harmony and Western clinical research, she gathered like-minded professionals and started Taochemy to make group acupuncture sessions and embodiment work accessible to the everyday person.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As with any entrepreneurial endeavor, there are challenges along the way. Taochemy and Almeda are both pioneers in their industries and it has taken time for customers to realize the need for them in their lives. Both of our companies have been a lifelong practice and continue to evolve with the needs of our clients. As healthcare professionals, it is always a bit bumpy when navigating the intricacies of our patients’ unique concerns or ailments but we have used our nursing roots and background to overcome those times.
