Conversations with Kaylee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylee.

Kaylee, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story with Eternity Productions really began when I was 14 years old. I felt like the Lord spoke to my heart and gave me a calling: that I would raise up a generation of young people who knew their talents and gifts and used them to glorify Him. I didn’t know what that would look like at the time, but I held onto that promise.

During my junior year of college, I took a class on how to run a theater company. One of our assignments was to imagine what it would be like to start our own company and decide what we would name it. Before the assignment was due, I prayed about it, and once again, I felt the Lord speak one word to my heart: Eternity.

Then, in October 2020, I felt the Lord remind me, “Just because the world shut down doesn’t mean you stop what you have been called to do.” That was the moment I knew I couldn’t keep putting off what I believed God had called me to do.

From October 2020 through February 2021, I spent time praying, planning, and figuring out how to bring this vision to life. In March 2021, I offered my very first theater class. My prayer was that at least 10 students would sign up, and God brought 15!

Our first performance was in June 2021, when our students performed during intermission at a dance recital. From that small beginning, Eternity Productions has grown into a faith-based theater program serving students ages 4–18, providing opportunities to learn, perform, compete, and grow in their God-given gifts.

Since then, we have put on 16 performances, and we are currently working on our 17th production, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Looking back, I can see God’s faithfulness in every step. Eternity Productions has never been just about putting on shows. My heart has always been to create a place where young people discover who God created them to be, grow in confidence, build meaningful relationships, and learn to use their gifts for His glory.

My vision is to continue growing this ministry and, one day, establish a permanent home for Eternity Productions in Paola. I want to see a generation of young people who know their worth, recognize their God-given abilities, and aren’t afraid to use them for His Kingdom.

What started as a calling when I was 14 has become a ministry that God continues to grow. I am simply trying to be faithful to what He asked me to do, and I can’t wait to see what He does next.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Following a calling doesn’t mean the journey will be easy. There have been seasons of financial challenges, figuring things out as I go, wearing a lot of different hats, and trying to build something bigger than what I could manage on my own. As a small nonprofit, there are times when the vision feels so much bigger than the resources we have available.

One of the hardest parts has been learning to trust God’s timing, especially when I can see the potential of what Eternity Productions could become but don’t always have the people, finances, or resources to get there yet. There have been moments when I’ve had to step out in faith without knowing exactly how everything would come together.

Balancing being a wife, a mom, and a ministry leader has also brought its own challenges. There is so much heart behind this work because it isn’t just a business to me; it’s a calling. Every student matters to me, and I want to give them the best experience possible.

But through every challenge, God has continued to remind me why I started. I think back to when I prayed for 10 students and 15 signed up. I remember how far we’ve come, from that first small performance to preparing our 17th production. Those moments remind me that this was never about what I could accomplish on my own.

At the end of the day, the students are the reason I keep going. When I see a student step onstage for the first time, overcome their fear, discover a talent they didn’t know they had, or begin to believe in themselves, I’m reminded of that calling the Lord placed on my heart when I was 14. It’s about so much more than theater. It’s about helping students recognize how God created them, understand that their gifts have value, and find the courage to use those gifts for His glory.

If pushing through the hard seasons means one more student discovers their God-given purpose, then it’s worth it. I may not always know how everything will come together, but I know why I started. I want to raise up a generation of young people who know who they are in Christ, recognize the gifts He has placed within them, and aren’t afraid to use them. That is what keeps me saying yes, even when the road gets hard.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At Eternity Productions, my heart is to create a place where children and teenagers can discover their God-given gifts, develop their talents, and use them to glorify Jesus. As the founder and Artistic Director of this faith-based performing arts nonprofit, I have the privilege of directing theatrical productions, teaching acting and musical theater, preparing students for competitions, and helping young performers grow both on and off the stage.

But what we do goes far beyond putting on a show. We are building confidence in children who may not yet believe in themselves. We are creating opportunities for students to discover their voices, develop discipline, learn teamwork, and realize that their gifts have a purpose. We strive to create an environment where every student feels seen, valued, encouraged, and reminded that who they are matters just as much as what they can do.

I specialize in musical theater, directing, performance training, and helping young performers develop their skills while discovering their unique strengths. I believe some of the most meaningful moments in theater happen behind the scenes—in the child who finally finds the courage to audition, the student who pushes through a challenge they once thought impossible, or the performer who learns to support and celebrate someone else’s success.

What sets Eternity Productions apart is that our foundation is not simply performance; it is faith, purpose, and people. We pursue excellence on stage while remembering that the hearts and lives of our students matter most. I want every child who walks through our doors to leave with more than a theatrical experience. I want them to leave knowing they are loved by God, created with purpose, and capable of more than they may have ever imagined.

What I am most proud of is seeing the transformation in our students. Watching them grow in confidence, step into leadership, overcome fear, and use their talents boldly is worth more than any applause or standing ovation. Every production represents countless hours of hard work, but the greatest reward is knowing that what we are building may impact these students long after the curtain closes.

Eternity Productions began with a step of faith and a desire to follow what I believed God was calling me to do. The journey has not always been easy, but I have continued to trust that the vision is bigger than me. My dream is to see Eternity grow into a permanent home for the arts in our community—a place where more children can experience the joy of performing, find belonging, and discover how God can use their gifts.

Ultimately, I don’t want to be remembered simply for the shows I directed. I want to be remembered for the lives we helped shape, the confidence we helped build, and the young people who learned to use their God-given gifts for something greater than themselves. If a student leaves Eternity believing in their God-given purpose a little more than when they arrived, then we have accomplished something far more meaningful than a successful production.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are so many ways people can partner with and support Eternity Productions, and we are always excited to connect with people who share our heart for the arts, the next generation, and glorifying Jesus through the gifts He has given us.

One of the greatest ways to collaborate with us is by sharing your gifts, talents, and resources. We are always looking for passionate individuals who want to invest in the lives of young performers, whether through directing, choreography, vocal coaching, acting, set design, costuming, lighting, sound, photography, or helping behind the scenes. We also welcome partnerships with local businesses, churches, schools, and community organizations that believe in creating opportunities for children and teens to grow in confidence, creativity, leadership, and faith.

Financial support and sponsorships are also incredibly valuable. As a nonprofit organization, donations help us provide quality theatrical experiences, purchase costumes and equipment, cover production expenses, and make opportunities available to young people in our community. We also welcome in-kind donations, fundraising partnerships, and individuals or businesses who would like to sponsor a production or support a student’s participation.

Beyond that, one of the simplest yet most meaningful ways to support us is by showing up. Attend a performance, invite a friend, share our events, pray for our students and leadership, or help spread the word about what God is doing through Eternity Productions.

Our long-term dream is to establish a permanent home for Eternity Productions, including land and a theater where we can continue to train, encourage, and equip the next generation. We believe God has given us a vision that is bigger than a stage. It is about building a community where young people discover their God-given gifts, develop their confidence, find belonging, and learn to use their talents to glorify Jesus.

At the heart of everything we do is the belief that we aren’t just putting on shows; we’re investing in lives. Every partnership, donation, volunteer hour, prayer, and shared resource helps us create opportunities for students to discover who God created them to be.

If you feel connected to our mission and would like to be part of what God is building through Eternity Productions, we would love to connect with you. There is a place for you in this story, and together, we can make an eternal impact—one student, one production, and one life at a time.
