Today we’d like to introduce you to S. Kennedy.
Hi S., please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
What I have discovered in this journey to fulfill dreams and grow is that we must be prepared to pivot and have an unwavering commitment to build in the light no matter the obstacles before us. As a mompreneur and 2 time breast cancer warrior, what I can say is that I have had to remain resilient even when there was no hope to see the light. What I can say is having a higher belief in despite what has been seen is truly the evidence of Faith. Our company continues to build pathways to reduce stress globally.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As Langston Hughes would narrate Life for me Ain’t Been No Crystal Stair. Since COVID, operating has been rough. One of the greatest challenges is seeing the disconnect and devalue of humanity. Living through the Age of Information, has been something to truly witness. Despite seeing these harsh realities, our company continues to ensure that systems are in place to assist with management of operations. Through this entire time, I have had to navigate my health. I have endured some real health challenges these past few years but I give thanks. For this season, as a mompreneur and cancer warrior my life is a testament to the work to heal from past wounds, unmet expectations, and traumas all while being a manifestation of light to never give up and believe with works.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a social innovator who helps to develop systems globally to reduce stress and cultivate environments that provide balance. We utilize our partnerships, arts and culture to formulate environments that reduce stress. I am most proud that I did not give up in the valley. Most proud that I am able to be a responsible Mom handling parenting responsibilities.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I enjoy best about this city is that it provides opportunities to learn and grow as an entrepreneur. This is a true representation of seeing entrepreneurs bring their dreams to reality for sure. What I least like about this city is the systemic racism still deeply enrooted into the battleground State of Georgia policies, laws and governance. For example, Georgia has the lowest paying mini-wage $7.35 in the entire US, monopolies operating utilities, the cost of living is not comparable to living wages.
