Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Waggoner.
Hi Adrienne, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My husband and I both decided a few years ago we were done working for other people. We decided to take a few chances and risks, and a few started working very well, until Covid hit. Then we pivoted to residential and commercial remodeling, which allowed us the freedom to start investing in other ideas. We always agreed we’d never own bars or restaurants, and after a few tried and failed other businesses, we were approached about buying a cocktail bar. We went through the financials and agreed, and we bought The Tiger’s Den in 2022 and rebranded it into The Den a few months later. In November of 2024 we had a night out with friends and make a joke about opening a restaurant. A year later we had purchased an old bank building and began remodeling it to turn into revl&co, which we opened in August of 2026.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s never been smooth but it always works out. We’ve struggled with marketing, employees, building issues, personal issues… Anything that could go wrong has gone wrong but we’ve always persevered and we’ve been willing to dig in and do the work alongside everyone that works for us.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Waggoner Contracting, The Den, revl&co, Ratchet Rangler, MoJoe, Room 108?
My husband Jeff and I are passionate about creating experiences that give people a reason to get out, connect, and enjoy something a little different in St. Joe.
The Den is our bookstore turned cocktail bar, which is known for it’s unique cocktail offerings, fun events, and our elaborate seasonal transformations. Throughout the year, we completely reinvent the space with immersive themes like Alice in WonderDen, Sunken Den, Scream at 519, and Santa’s Den. We want people to feel like they’re stepping into an entirely different world when they walk through our doors. We will be adding more immersions in the coming year. If you’re going out for a drink it might as well be fun.
This year we launched revl&co, a chef-driven restaurant specializing in modern American cuisine, and more traditional speakeasy style cocktail lounge in the basement. We have an incredibly talented culinary team led by award winning Chef Jacob Hilbert, an ambitious wine program with an in-house sommelier, and a focus on thoughtful, elevated dining, we’re working to bring an experience to St. Joseph that people might typically expect to find in a much larger city.
We think what sets us apart is our attention to detail and creating unique experiences. We think our community deserves one of a kind spaces that are worth visiting over and over. We are also proud of the people who work for us; they believe in what we’re doing and are key to the magic.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was probably always seeking attention (shocking, I know), because I was the middle child, and I grew up military so we moved all the time and I always was making new friends. I wanted to get into film school and that was my goal until I met my husband and we made St Joe our home.
