Today we’d like to introduce you to Aubree Hendershot.
Hi Aubree, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Radiant Wellness really began long before I ever opened its doors. I started my career as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, where I was trained to look beyond a symptom and understand how the entire body works together. Even then, I was drawn to a more functional approach—asking why something was happening instead of simply addressing where it hurt. I loved helping people connect the dots and recognize that the body is not a collection of separate systems, but an intricately connected whole.
Years later, my own health journey made that philosophy deeply personal. When I found myself searching for answers to symptoms that conventional approaches weren’t fully resolving, I began digging deeper into root causes, cellular health, inflammation, detoxification, nutrition, and the body’s incredible capacity to heal when given the right support. What started as a search for my own healing ultimately changed the trajectory of my career. In April 2022, I opened Radiant Wellness as a place where I could bring those worlds together—my clinical background, a functional whole-person perspective, and my passion for helping people uncover the why behind how they feel. Radiant Wellness was built on the belief that our bodies were created with an incredible capacity to heal, and my role is to help people better understand and support that process.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building a small business from the ground up has come with plenty of challenges—especially in those early days. When I first became certified in the Vodder Technique for Manual Lymphatic Drainage, very few people in Kansas City understood what lymphatic drainage was, much less why it mattered. Some of my earliest clients were actually transplants from places like California, where MLD was already more widely recognized and sought after. As awareness has grown, so has another frustration: seeing “lymphatic drainage” offered by people without proper training who may be performing something entirely different. True Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a specialized, gentle technique that requires an understanding of lymphatic anatomy, pathways, appropriate pressure, and contraindications. That’s why I believe it’s so important to ask about training and seek out a properly certified practitioner—not simply someone who has added “lymphatic drainage” to their service menu.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Radiant Wellness?
Radiant Wellness is a holistic wellness practice in the Kansas City area focused on helping people better understand their bodies and uncover the root causes behind how they feel. Today, Radiant Wellness is probably best known for Manual Lymphatic Drainage. MLD is much more than a trendy massage or something reserved for post-surgical recovery. The lymphatic system plays an important role in fluid balance, immune function, and the body’s normal waste-clearance processes.
Beyond lymphatic drainage, Radiant Wellness offers a variety of services and programs designed to support the whole person, including cellular detoxification programs, amino acid therapy, gut-focused wellness support, self-lymphatic education, and other tools and technologies that complement the body’s natural processes. I work with clients both locally and virtually, which has allowed Radiant Wellness to serve people well beyond Kansas City.
What sets Radiant Wellness apart is that I don’t want people to become dependent on me. Education is a huge part of what I do. I want clients to understand why they are experiencing symptoms, how the different systems of their body are connected, and what they can do at home to continue supporting themselves. Rather than endlessly chasing symptoms, my goal is to help people zoom out, connect the dots, and identify the foundational areas that may need support.
Brand-wise, I am most proud that Radiant Wellness has grown without losing the heart behind why I started it. I have worked hard to create an experience that feels personal, trustworthy, educational, and hopeful—not clinical or intimidating. Radiant Wellness exists to help people become active participants in that process, and that philosophy influences everything from the services I offer to the way I educate and care for my clients.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I once had a business coach tell me I had one of the worst business plans she had ever heard. When I explained that my goal was to educate and empower people to understand their bodies, take ownership of their health, and not need to rely on me forever, she told me I was essentially planning to “work myself out of a job.” I ultimately decided we weren’t a good fit and parted ways with her—and I’m happy to say I’ve proven her wrong.
