Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazzmine Cayton.
Hi Jazzmine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started photography in 2023! It was “the year of hobbies” for me, and thankfully I was gifted a camera from my bonus mom. That year I decided to try as many things as I could, outside of my comfort zone and photography was my first step. That first step led me to start a small business. I have continued working on that small business and I have had so much help from the people in the photography community, it’s been such a welcoming environment every step of the way! This year I have really focused on why I love photography, and I’ve found that my love for it comes from a place of serving others, and serving my community.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a hard road fortunately, I like to think I have a pretty positive outlook on challenges. Not to say there hasn’t been challenges but things tend to work out according to God’s plan.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a photographer located in the Kansas City area. I do a little bit of everything but I love capturing love-oriented stories. That can range anywhere from dating, getting engaged, getting married, or even starting a family. As long as there is an abundance of love I want to show people that, through my work. I am proud of my work, but I would say I’m most proud of the community that I’ve made my home in. The photographer community is beyond welcoming in the Kansas City area, and the people I have met along the way have made me and my work better. I would say something unique about me and my business is that it is relationship-oriented. I want to keep my clients in every stage of life. If our paths cross I would love to know you, and become a permanent friend who happens to document the different stages of your life.
What’s next?
Currently I am booking more and more weddings, I would like to continue that in 2027/28. A goal that I have for the future would be to travel for weddings.
