Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Rice.
Hi Julia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Frankie & Jules has been a part of my life for nearly 20 years, and in many ways, I’ve grown right alongside it. What began with a love for fashion has become so much more…a community, a creative outlet, and something I’m incredibly proud to have built. But I could never have done it alone. My mom has been there every step of the way, and I’ve been incredibly lucky to have two amazing women by my side for so many years who have poured so much of themselves into Frankie & Jules. Through raising a family and all the different seasons of life, Frankie & Jules has continued to evolve while staying true to what matters most: helping women feel confident, stylish, and welcome.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Construction, COVID, and the personal obstacles that came with different seasons of life often made things challenging, both personally and professionally. Balancing the demands of running a business with family responsibilities, unexpected setbacks, and the constant changes in the retail world tested me in ways I never anticipated. Through raising a family, navigating uncertainty, and continuing to move forward when things felt overwhelming, I learned resilience, strengthened my perspective, and was reminded why Frankie & Jules is so meaningful to me.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is visiting Breckenridge, Colorado, and walking into a clothing boutique unlike anything I had ever seen. It was unique, charming, and full of personality, and I remember being completely drawn to it. Even at a young age, I knew I wanted to create something like that someday…a place that felt special the moment you walked through the door. Looking back now, I think the dream of Frankie & Jules started right there.
