Meet Rae Corn of Kansas City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rae Corn.

Hi Rae, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, my name is Rae. I started my love for photography back in highschool when I was able to process film in a dark room. Once I saw a blank piece of paper turn into an image I was hooked. Now, with everything being digital, the process is .much faster but my goal is the same. To take an idea of the people I photograph and turn it into a lasting memory for them. I want them to have not just photos but memories.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, photography is a super saturated market with several skill levels and several price points. Marketing myself has always been my biggest struggle. I want everyone to be able to have the opportunity to have photos taken but also be able to make a decent living from doing so. I also am my biggest critic and always doubt myself in several areas.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a photographer and I specialize in photographing people. What I think sets me apart is that I try to do more then capture moments, I want to create memories.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I want to thank everyone who trusted me with their most precious events. Everyone who chose me over the many talented choices they had. All my repeat customers who over time have become friends!!
