Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Marshall.
Hi Brittany, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’d love to!
I was working with adults with disabilities, and I had one patient who would always come in walking like he was in pain. He would constantly tell me how he was uncomfortable.
One day, his massage therapist, Peggy Greene (I’ll never forget her), came in and gave him a massage. I noticed that every time she did, he would leave feeling and moving so much better than when he walked in.
I finally decided to ask her, “How did you do that? What exactly did you do?”. We started talking, and she told me she had been an LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist) for years and shared what this profession had done for her. She talked about the fulfillment that came from pouring into others, relieving pain and discomfort, and helping people relax their bodies and nervous systems.
At that point, I was like, “Where do I sign up?” Lol
Two weeks later, I went straight to Texas Center for Massage Therapy and enrolled. After a year of studying and training, I graduated, and ever since then, this profession has taken me so far.
I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to work with some of our very own Chiefs players, which has been such an amazing experience.
Looking back, I’m so grateful that Peggy took the time to pour into me and show me a profession that would ultimately become such a huge part of my life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been the smoothest journey! I’ve faced my share of ups and downs, but that comes with being an entrepreneur. There have been slow seasons and great ones, hard years and years filled with smiles and breakthroughs.
One of the biggest things I’ve had to remind myself is to never give up. There have definitely been times when I’ve wanted to call it quits, but then I remind myself of how far I’ve come and how much further I still have to go. The support and encouragement from my family and friends have also played such a huge role in helping me keep going. I’m so grateful for the people who have been there for me every step of the way.
One of the challenges I’m currently dealing with is trigger finger, a condition that causes my finger to lock or catch in a bent position. It can be very painful and, unfortunately, has caused me to put massage therapy on hold for a little while so I can focus on healing. As difficult as it has been to step back from something I love, I’m trusting the process and doing what I need to do to take care of myself. Healing is happening, and I’m working on it right now as we speak. Sometimes, you have to slow down, take care of yourself, and allow your body the time it needs to heal.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is not to compare my chapter 5 to someone else’s chapter 20. Everyone’s journey looks different, and we’re all on our own timeline.
I hold tightly to my faith and trust that God will continue to open the right doors for me. It’s all in His timing, not mine.
So, I’ll keep showing up, keep believing, keep growing, and keep going.
As you know, we’re big fans of Healing Hands KC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
“Your first step toward wellness is in my hands.” Healing Hands KC believes Massage Therapy is a key to an over holistic goal. I truly stand by that!
I’ve been practicing massage therapy for 12 years, and I can honestly say I still LOVE what I do! Helping people feel better, move better, relax, and leave feeling like their absolute best selves is what makes this work so rewarding.
I specialize in sports massage, trigger point therapy, craniosacral therapy, and Swedish massage. I also love adding those extra touches to create a truly relaxing experience, including hot stones, a foot scrub with a hot towel, facial massage with cold stones, and aromatherapy.
I’m known for making my clients feel tended to, cared for, comfortable, and heard. Because for me, it’s not just a massage, it’s also a little bit of therapy. Lol Sometimes you need to work out the knots in your muscles and the stress in your mind!
What sets me apart is that I know who I am, what I bring to the table, and the level of care I want every client to experience. I’m a very humble person, so it’s truly an honor to reflect on some of the opportunities I’ve been blessed with—including the opportunity to work with some of the Kansas City Chiefs players! That has been one of the biggest highlights of my career. Also in 2025, I was incredibly honored to be voted Best Massage Therapist by the Kansas City People’s Choice Awards!
When I look back at this journey, I can only say God has been good to me. I’m grateful for every client, every opportunity, every lesson, and every person who has trusted me with their wellness.
12 years in, and I still love what I do. I’m excited for what’s next!
What’s next?
A dream of mine is to be on the field every Sunday with the Chiefs! ❤️🏈 It would be such a blessing and an incredible opportunity to work alongside them. It’s something I’ve prayed about and continue to pray for. However, I’m trusting God with my next steps because I know it’s His will, not mine. My job is to trust, obey, and keep moving forward in faith.
Beyond that, I simply want to continue pouring out the gift God has blessed me with, helping people relax, release stress, and feel their absolute best.
I’m also looking forward to doing more pop-ups and bringing more opportunities for relaxation and wellness to my Kansas City people!
I’m excited for what God has in store!.
