Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Clark.
Hi Kyle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began primarily with piano in middle school. Mostly, a lot of piano receitals in high school and then finding a group of likeminded people in my early adlut years who wanted to play rock and genres with synthesizers.
I really took to recording and producing more in college and starting cutting records for my own bands I was in at the time. I tried a few other paths in the music industry, but but making records and being creative has always called me back. I´ve steadily build up the studio over many years and I´m very greatful to be able to keep learning and growing with every record.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The have been more than a few bumps for sure. I think the hardest years were early adulthood in college. Trying to balance gigging with multiple bands and studies while also first getting my hands in production in the music scene was a lot to to juggle. I always felt like an outsider amongst my piers at college, not really fitting into anywhere in particular as a student or musician in KC.
Looking back now though I was fortunate to be exposed and learn from many different perspectives of gifted teachers. The hardships are definetely learning experiences as well.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I play multiple instruments, and being able to pick anything up and play it has been a real strength. That’s made communicating with artists easier over time.
I love making every record unique and having its own flavor. I try and see what makes a musician light up and play at their best. usually if they’re happy, relaxed, and enjoying the process, the record will reflect that.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Create the art that makes yourself happy and fulfilled, that I believe is the most authentic form of connecting with others though creating music. Also be kind to your fellow musician, we’re all in this together!
