Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Ingram.
Hi Daniel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story really started with a simple desire to build something of my own and create opportunities for the people around me. I started small, learning as I went and figuring things out through experience rather than having a perfect roadmap. Over time, those early experiences helped me develop a clearer vision for what I wanted to build.
As METROS has grown, so have I. There have been plenty of challenges, lessons, and moments where I’ve had to adapt, but each one has helped shape where we are today. I’m proud of how far we’ve come, and I’m even more excited about where we’re headed next.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like any business, there have been plenty of challenges along the way figuring things out as we went, making the right decisions with limited resources, and learning from the mistakes that inevitably come with building something from the ground up.
There have also been times when things moved slower than we hoped or when we had to adjust our plans. But those challenges have probably been some of the most valuable parts of the journey. They’ve taught us to be patient, stay flexible, and keep moving forward even when things don’t go exactly as planned.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Metros is a photography and creative brand focused on capturing people, culture, and real moments in an authentic way. What started with taking photos for friends and campus organizations has grown into a creative platform covering portraits, events, campus life, and important milestones.
Metros is known for creating images that feel natural and genuine rather than overly staged. The work has a strong street-level influence, while still focusing on making clients comfortable and creating a connection that comes through in the final images.
What I’m most proud of is how far Metros has come from simply having a camera and a vision to building something that allows me to help people celebrate their milestones, tell their stories, and see themselves in a different light.
What sets Metros apart is the focus on storytelling. It’s not just about taking a good picture; it’s about capturing the energy, personality, and emotion of a person or moment and turning it into something that feels real, personal, and memorable.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories was being the youngest and playing basketball with my older brothers. I was always trying to keep up with them, and those moments really shaped me. That’s actually where I got the name “Metro.” It started as a nickname from those days playing basketball with my brothers, and over time, it became a name that stuck with me and eventually became part of Metros.co.
Looking back, those memories mean a lot because they’re connected to where everything started for me. What was once just a nickname from playing basketball with my brothers became a part of my identity and, eventually, my brand.
