Check Out Kenny Marshall’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenny Marshall.

Hi Kenny, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started photography in 2007 at the age of 17 and the rest is history, I’ve always loved photographing memories and moments, in 2019 I decided to pick up the camera again and go full swing into photography again, after years and years of cultivating my craft and finding my style I am where I am today! 5 years in full business and loving every moment of it!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been smooth sailing, I’ve had to grind and cultivate, network and connect with my community to get to this point. Learning the ropes of any business is challenging but you do it because you love it and you get fulfillment out of it!

The consistency of being an entrepreneur in arts can have its ebb and flows, so months and years are better than others but you learn to move and go with it.

Imposter syndrome is real ha! You have to be confident in who you are as an artist because there is a lot of noise out here!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a Kansas City-based photographer specializing in cinematic couples photography and intimate love stories. My work is focused on creating images that feel emotional, authentic, and timeless rather than overly posed or traditional. I love capturing the in-between moments, the way two people naturally interact, laugh, connect, and experience each other.

What sets my work apart is my ability to blend cinematic imagery with genuine emotion. I’m intentional about creating an experience that allows my clients to feel comfortable, have fun, and truly be themselves while I create photographs that feel like stills from their own love story. I’m most proud of building a photography brand that has connected with people for years and of creating work that feels personal, artistic, and meaningful to the couples I photograph.

What does success mean to you?
I define success as creating a life and career that allow me to be creatively fulfilled, financially independent, and genuinely proud of the work I put into the world. As a photographer, success isn’t just measured by how many clients I book or how much I make, but by the connections I create and the feeling my work leaves with people. I want to continue growing creatively, building something that is uniquely mine, and reaching a point where I have the freedom to create on my own terms. Ultimately, success to me is being able to look at what I’ve built and know that I stayed true to myself while continuing to grow.
