Conversations with Jasmine (AKA The Wine Goddess) Johnson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine (AKA The Wine Goddess) Johnson.

Hi Jasmine (AKA The Wine Goddess), thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey as a podcast host, wine authority, creator, actress, and author didn’t start with a pristine blueprint. At the very beginning, I was overweight, broke, and living without a clear passion or plan for my life. Everything changed when I decided to adopt a radical belief in myself and start a podcast called Puff Chronicles.
Holding space behind that microphone was my first real taste of digital media, at the same time began focusing on my health and working to lose weight, I decided to swap my old habits for healthier choices—which is how I first introduced wine into the show. Instead of taking shots while podcasting like we were, we decided drinking wine would be a healthier option and creating a new segment in the show where we briefly discussed wine notes and had a link where people could purchase the wine online while we received the commission.
Unfortunately, Puff Chronicles eventually fell apart, but the momentum didn’t stop there. Because I had made some money talking about wine on the show I began looking for a way to market and promote my new online wine business, I stepped into modeling. I started creating eye-catching, standout posts featuring myself with wine bottles—a bold visual strategy that officially birthed the Wine Goddess persona.
Those posts caught real traction, leading to me being signed by Voices & Models Talent Agency. Being in that environment sparked a deep interest in acting, eventually landing me the lead voice role in the audio erotica series Sassy: The Art of Cheating by Hollyrod.
As I continued producing viral content and promoting wine brands, I realized I had developed a formula that worked. I built a social media consulting business designed to help other brands in the wine world grow their audience. That business expanded my footprint, allowing me to travel and connect with major wine producers both nationally and internationally. Yet despite that success, I deeply missed podcasting and the intimate storytelling environment of Puff Chronicles.
The turning point came late one night at home, fresh off a plane from Napa Valley with a box of Earth & Sky Chocolates. I was on the phone with my good friend Kiki, and we decided she’d come over with a bottle of wine so I could tell her all about the trip. Sitting there sharing wine, chocolates, and stories, the spark hit us naturally: we organically created The Wines & Chocolates Show right on my tiny balcony, built on a mission to make the wine world welcoming, fun, and far less intimidating. Creating this podcast has allowed me to build some amazing relationships in the podcast world of Iheart and The Black Effect Network.
Reflecting on that evolution—from losing the weight and building a multi-faceted business to growing as a performer and co-hosting a hit show—inspired me to write my eGuide, From Goof to Goddess: The Radical Switch.
When this all started, I had no blueprint. Taking that initial, radical leap to put my voice on a podcast birthed an entire media ecosystem. I share my journey now so others realize they can step into their own radical belief, pivot their circumstances, and completely transform their lives just like I did.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not, growth doesn’t always FEEL “good” because growth usually means change and change can be hard to deal with. Relationship changes, career changes, even moving location changes can be scary and stressful if you aren’t able to develop a high tolerance in dealing with the ‘unknown’. It makes everyone act a little crazy even the ones that aren’t directly dealing with your evolution it’s still change and affects even them. Thats been a tough one for me because I’m so loyal and I hold on to people and things. So when I learned about people that I thought loved me saying hurtful and discouraging things it took me a minute to find my footing in that in learn how to handle situations like that with grace and empathy.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a media entrepreneur, wine authority, creator, author, and actress. At my core, I specialize in transforming spaces that often feel exclusive or intimidating into welcoming, engaging, and elevated experiences.
Through my brand, I wear several hats that all connect back to authentic storytelling and accessible luxury:
I co-created, host, and direct The Wines & Chocolates Show alongside my co-host Kiki.

Using the viral content and branding strategies that built my own platform—the Wine Goddess—I consult with brands and wine brands to help them expand their reach, connect with modern audiences, and leverage social media effectively.
Now, represented as an actress and voiceover talent, I bring characters to life across dynamic audio and screen projects,
While I also share my personal blueprint for transformation in my eGuide, From Goof to Goddess: The Radical Switch, teaching others how to use radical belief to pivot their life, health, and business.
I am most proud of my resilience and the ecosystem I’ve built from SCRATCH. I’ve heard many “no”s but I’m proud to say none of them have stopped me from growing and evolving my businesses. When I started, I was overweight, broke, and lacked a clear direction. Stepping out on a limb to start my first podcast, taking control of my health, and having the courage to continuously pivot—from modeling to acting, and from social media strategy to producing my own show—proved to me that you can completely rewrite your story no matter who wants it or doesn’t want it as long as YOU BELIEVE IN IT. Turning a personal journey of weight loss and self-discovery into a thriving multi-hyphenate business is my greatest achievement.
What sets me apart is my ability to bridge high-end culture with real, relatable conversation. I don’t approach the wine industry from a place of rigid pretension; I approach it as an inviting host who brings people together over great wine and mouth watering Chocolates. I bring a multi-dimensional perspective—combining visual modeling, voice acting, business acumen, and raw storytelling—that allows me to connect with audiences on a much deeper, more authentic level than traditional media figures.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I love listening to Leila Hermozi, Charlemagne Tha God, The 4 Agreements, and I have some amazing friends.
