Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristian Rogers.
Hi Kristian, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2017, I started my photography journey by purchasing my first camera from Best Buy during a Black Friday sale. Prior to this, I had consistently enjoyed taking photos of sunsets on my smartphone and admired the work of photographers featured in magazines. I started learning how to utilize my camera through trial & error until I got the picture that I was happy with. Over the years I would watch as many youtube videos as I could & would learn as many tips and tricks from the many different photographers that I was surrounded by. I would take on as many shoots as I could & this lead me to eventually finding my own editing style & a way of capturing moments that felt unique to me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey with photography has not always been a smooth road & that is exactly what has helped shape me into who I am today. There has been countless times that I have felt defeated, hopeless, and just ready to give up because of the mental block that comes with being a creative. I’ve had all camera gear stolen, hated the way some photos have come out, been told my photos wont make it, but at the end of the day seeing my work be appreciated by the right people is what keeps me going. I’ve always had the desire to provide a service to people that is going to last a lifetime & with photography I get that fulfillment.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
So, this is one thing that I have always struggled with because I don’t believe I have one specific niche thing that I like to shoot. I am someone who just likes to be apart of cool creative projects to help people tell a story. This could range anywhere from personal portraits, concert photos, event coverage, business headshots, weddings, and even family portraits. I would say that I am most proud of the fact that I have the ability to hop into multiple different environments & always come out with a meaningful story behind my photos. This is something that really sets me apart from other photographers as well because I am able to have a wide range within my portfolio.
