Hi Rochinda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began with a life-changing tragedy on December 22, 2007. My late husband of more than 20 years and I were involved in a devastating car accident when our vehicle flipped on the highway. He lost his life, and I survived. In an instant, everything changed.
At 44 years old, I found myself raising our three children, who were 12, 15, and 23 at the time. I was overwhelmed with grief, uncertainty, and the weight of rebuilding a life I never imagined having to live. Although I went through grief counseling, I still felt lost, broken, and without direction.
In 2009, I surrendered my life to Christ, and that decision became the turning point of my life. God took the deepest pain I had ever experienced and began transforming it into purpose. What I thought was the end of my story became the beginning of the life He had always intended for me.
As my faith grew, I became part of a church launch, began leading Bible studies, and stepped into entrepreneurship by opening Chinda Unique Boutique, a women’s clothing boutique that I successfully owned and operated for 10 years. During that season, I also designed jewelry and discovered my passion for helping women see their value from the inside out.
In 2016, I wrote my first book, From Being Kept to Being Kept. Before my husband’s passing, I was a stay-at-home wife and mother. He lovingly provided for our family, and I depended on him for so much. After losing him, I had to rediscover who I was and learn that my identity and security were found in God. That revelation became the foundation of my message.
What began as one book has grown into six published books, including four National Best Sellers. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of helping aspiring authors bring their own stories to life, because I believe our testimonies have the power to heal, encourage, and inspire others.
That same passion led me to found the Kept Woman of GOD ministry, where for 11 years I mentored women in their faith, identity, healing, and purpose. Through conferences, Bible studies, mentorship programs, and transformational experiences, I have had the opportunity to encourage women to move beyond their pain and embrace the life God has called them to live.
Today, I continue that mission through Chosen Luxury Experience, Chosen Conference Academy, and Chosen Suites, where faith, leadership, wellness, and personal growth come together. Whether I am hosting conferences, mentoring emerging women leaders, coaching aspiring authors, or creating luxury experiences for women to reconnect with themselves and with God, my mission remains the same: to help women heal, grow, and walk confidently in their God-given purpose.
My entrepreneurial journey has also expanded into the beauty and wellness industry as a Beauty Influencer and Ambassador for a Global luxury company called Farmasi. I love helping women look and feel their best by combining beauty, wellness, and confidence with purpose. For me, beauty isn’t just about makeup or skincare—it’s about helping women recognize the queen they already are and giving them the confidence to show up fully in every area of their lives.
Looking back, I realize that every setback became a setup for something greater. God has taken unimaginable loss and transformed it into a life of purpose, service, and impact. Today, I am blessed to be the mother of three incredible adult children and the proud Nana of four amazing grandchildren and a wife. My life is a testimony that no matter how broken your beginning may be, God can rewrite your story into one filled with hope, purpose, and possibility. I now have the privilege of helping other women believe that He can do the same for them.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been easy. One of my greatest challenges was raising my three children while we were all navigating the unimaginable grief of losing my husband and their father. We were each grieving differently, yet I still had to be the one holding everyone together while trying to figure out how to move forward myself.
One of the biggest mistakes I made was believing I had to somehow fill their father’s shoes. I knew I could never bring him back, but I tried to compensate for his absence by going above and beyond with material things. Looking back, I realize I was trying to ease their pain the only way I knew how. Over time, I learned that what my children needed most wasn’t more “things”—they needed my presence, my love, my prayers, and a safe place to grieve and heal together.
As a new widow, I also had to learn how to navigate life on my own. Before my husband’s passing, I had been a stay-at-home wife and mother, and suddenly I was responsible for every decision, every bill, and every challenge that came with raising a family alone. There were many moments when I questioned whether I was enough, but my faith became my anchor.
Those struggles shaped the woman I am today. They taught me resilience, strengthened my relationship with God, and gave me the compassion to walk alongside other women who are facing their own seasons of loss, transition, and uncertainty. Today, I don’t just share my success—I share my journey, because I know healing begins when we realize we don’t have to walk through life’s hardest moments alone.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I often tell people that I’m not simply in the business of selling products or hosting events—I’m in the business of transforming lives. Everything I do is centered around helping women heal, discover their purpose, build confidence, and become the woman God created them to be.
I wear many hats. I’m an author of six books, including four National Best Sellers, a speaker, mentor, conference host, entrepreneur, and Beauty & Wellness Influencer for a Global Luxury brand Farmasi. I founded Kept Woman of GOD, a ministry that served women for more than a decade, and today I continue that mission through Chosen Luxury Experience, Chosen Conference Academy, and Chosen Suites.
Through conferences, retreats, workshops, mentorship, and coaching, I help women move beyond pain, fear, and self-doubt so they can embrace purpose and walk confidently into their next chapter. I also enjoy helping aspiring authors bring their stories to life because I believe every testimony has the power to change someone else’s life.
My beauty and wellness brand is another extension of that mission. As a Beauty Ambassador, I help women look and feel their best through skincare, cosmetics, wellness, and self-care products. I believe confidence begins on the inside, but there’s nothing wrong with looking beautiful on the outside too. When a woman feels confident in who she is, she’s more likely to pursue her dreams, use her voice, and show up boldly in every area of her life.
What I’m most proud of isn’t the businesses I’ve built, the books I’ve written, or even the awards I’ve received. I’m most proud of the lives I’ve been privileged to impact. Watching women rediscover their worth, publish their first book, launch a business, deepen their faith, or simply believe in themselves again is the greatest reward I could ever receive.
What sets me apart is that I don’t teach from theory—I lead from experience. Everything I share has been birthed from my own journey of loss, grief, healing, faith, and perseverance. After losing my husband unexpectedly, I had to rebuild my own life from the ground up. That experience gave me compassion, authenticity, and a heart to serve others in a genuine way.
My life is proof that purpose can be born from pain. Whether I’m speaking on a stage, mentoring one woman, hosting a conference, writing a book, or introducing someone to products that help them feel beautiful and confident, my mission remains the same: to inspire women to heal, grow, and live the life God has uniquely designed for them.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
If I had to identify one quality that has contributed most to my success, it would be my unwavering faith in God. My faith has been the foundation for every decision I’ve made, every obstacle I’ve overcome, and every opportunity I’ve embraced. It has given me the courage to keep moving forward, even when the path wasn’t clear.
Along with faith, resilience has been essential. Life has taught me that setbacks don’t have to define us—they can refine us. Losing my husband could have caused me to give up, but instead it became the beginning of a journey that strengthened my character and deepened my purpose. Every challenge has taught me to trust God more, adapt, and keep pressing forward.
I also believe consistency has been a key part of my success. Success isn’t built through one big moment; it’s built through showing up every day, serving others with excellence, and remaining committed to the vision God has given me. Whether I’m mentoring women, writing books, hosting conferences, building businesses, or serving as a Beauty Ambassador, I strive to lead with integrity, authenticity, and a genuine heart for people.
More than anything, I want my legacy to reflect obedience. I believe God has opened doors because I was willing to say “yes,” even when I didn’t have all the answers. My success isn’t measured by titles, awards, or accomplishments—it’s measured by the lives that have been transformed because I chose to walk in my purpose and help others discover theirs.
