From entering the elite 1 Million Kills Club to paneling at the LVL UP Expo, speaking at SEICON 2026, and securing Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights for the next generation, Roderick “Halfdolo” Leak is shifting the culture of competitive gaming.
My journey began with a genuine passion for gaming, esports, and bringing people together through competition and conversation. I have been playing video games, creating music, and rapping since the Atari era. Growing up in a socio-economically disadvantaged neighborhood in Fayetteville, North Carolina, I frequently turned to fishing and video games as an escape from everyday hardships. I sharpened my competitive skills by battling local players in arcades throughout Fayetteville until home consoles finally became widely available.The arrival of the Nintendo Entertainment System was just the beginning. By the release of the Super Nintendo, I had learned to balance my love for gaming with a dedication to my academics. This balance allowed me to graduate high school with honors, earning acceptance to East Carolina University. After two years at ECU, I transferred to Fayetteville State University—a proud Historically Black University (HBCU)—where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
Over the years, I have strategically used my platform to connect with players, creators, and professionals across the competitive gaming landscape. What started as a pure love for gaming gradually transformed into something much greater. I began to realize how incredibly powerful esports could be—not just as mainstream entertainment, but as a vehicle to create sustainable opportunities, build lasting communities, and provide a platform where individuals can be truly seen and heard.
As a Hardcore Domination specialist, that relentless drive translated into historic in-game milestones. Climbing the leaderboards since the competitive era of Call of Duty: Black Ops II required mastering flawless spawn-reading, precise map control, and highly aggressive, fast-paced movement mechanics. That dedication ultimately led to an elite career achievement: capturing over 1,000,000 lifetime kills across the Call of Duty franchise. By surviving the unforgiving, one-to-two-shot lethality of Hardcore modes to regularly drop 30-kill “Nuclear” streaks, I secured a historic spot in the Top 10 in the United States and the Top 100 in the World on the global leaderboards.
Hitting those monumental numbers provided the ultimate launchpad to give back to the FPS community through channels like the Talk Yo Game podcast and massive interactive community projects like Operation 1 Million Intel. I have worked tirelessly to expand my voice in the esports community, advocate for competitors, and master the business developments and emerging opportunities shaping the industry.
This momentum recently brought me to a massive stage in the gaming world, where I was invited to serve as an official panelist at the premier LVL UP Expo in Las Vegas. Speaking there allowed me to connect directly with the community and share critical insights on the trajectory of the industry.
Building on that momentum, I was invited to attend and serve as a panelist at SEICON 2026, an elite gathering where top-tier investors, multi-millionaires, and visionaries come together. Sitting on the panel, I spoke dynamically about the “Championship Mindset”—diving deep into the arduous, difficult times a person must endure to achieve true success, and the absolute necessity of never giving up on your dreams.This philosophy of resilience and leadership is also the foundation of my upcoming book, Coaching Champions: Building Winning Esports Teams, which will be available for purchase soon. The book serves as a vital blueprint for players and coaches looking to replicate world-class team dynamics and scale their operations.
That ongoing professional journey eventually led to my appointment as the Executive Director of Esports for DeclareYourNIL.com.
DeclareYourNIL.com provides the essential NIL infrastructure that helps athletes and esports competitors legally declare their Name, Image, and Likeness while establishing a secure, public NIL Digital Identity.
This role is incredibly meaningful to me because esports competitors are frequently left out of the crucial revenue and branding conversations that traditionally revolve around mainstream athletes. I am completely focused on changing that dynamic by educating the esports community about NIL rights, helping digital competitors understand the importance of establishing their unique professional identity, and positioning them for lifelong future opportunities.
Today, my mission is not only to continue scaling my own platform, but also to leverage my experience and executive position to open doors for others across both esports and the broader sports landscape. Whether I am breaking down tactical data, supporting up-and-coming small streamers, or securing structural rights for digital athletes, the ultimate goal remains unchanged: ensuring competitive gamers receive the professional respect, recognition, and protection they rightfully deserve.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road.
Like many people building something from the ground up, I have experienced setbacks, technical problems, limited resources, missed opportunities, and moments when progress felt slower than I hoped. So, I prayed and asked God for strength.
One of the biggest challenges has been seeing people give up when I know that they could make it. Regardless whether they gave up or not and threw in the towel, I kept my faith in God & continued to believe in the vision even when other people could not immediately see it.
Esports has grown tremendously, but competitors and creators still sometimes have to work harder to be taken seriously. There can be a lack of resources, limited understanding from people outside the gaming community, and fewer established pathways compared with traditional sports.
Those challenges taught me patience, persistence, and the importance of staying committed to the purpose behind the work.
I have also learned that setbacks do not mean the vision is wrong. Sometimes they simply mean that we need to adjust, pray, improve, and continue moving forward in excellence.
Every challenge has helped prepare me for the responsibility I have today. It has made me more compassionate toward people who are trying to build their own path, and it has strengthened my desire to create more opportunities for the next generation. I mean I’m excited about moving towards creating tournaments for pubstompers, working with up and coming gaming studios that will grant an exclusive tournament license for what we’re doing at Declareyournil.com. “Additionally, we are focused on securing major sponsors who share our vision for an upcoming draft and league. This initiative will provide substantial sponsorship backing and create tremendous job opportunities for agents, casters, coaches, esports players, and teams.”

Professionally, my work is centered around expanding the visibility, understanding, and opportunities available within esports. As the Executive Director of Esports for DeclareYourNIL.com, I am helping introduce the esports community to the concept of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL). While many people mistakenly associate NIL only with traditional collegiate sports or major athletic leagues, esports competitors similarly build massive reputations, audiences, personal brands, and commercial value through their names, images, likenesses, skills, and communities. How do you define success?
I define success by impact and the influence that God gave me to create a positive change.
Personal achievements are important, but success means more to me when the work helps someone else move forward.
Success is helping an esports competitor recognize their value. It is encouraging someone not to give up. It is using my platform to introduce people to information, relationships, and opportunities they may not have known existed.
I also believe success is staying committed to your purpose during difficult times having an ear to hear.
Not every achievement is immediately visible. Sometimes success is continuing to show up, learning from mistakes, becoming better, and helping others avoid some of the challenges you experienced.
My goal is to build something that creates a positive and lasting impact beyond my own career that will bless others.
If the work I am doing helps athletes, esports competitors, young people, creators, schools, and organizations better understand their possibilities, I consider that success.
