Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to helping people grow into the fullest version of themselves. Long before I had the language for it, I was creating spaces where people felt seen, encouraged, and capable of more.
For over a decade, that looked like a career in the beauty industry. I worked as a stylist, educator, trainer, and mentor, and while I loved helping people feel confident on the outside, I realized the conversations happening in my chair often went much deeper than hair. We talked about dreams, finances, relationships, purpose, and the courage it takes to start over.
Eventually, I felt God calling me into a new season.
As an entrepreneur, I knew how to create income through my own gifts, but I realized I had never truly learned how money could work for me. That realization sparked a journey into financial literacy, retirement planning, and legacy building. Instead of pretending to be an expert overnight, I decided to learn out loud and invite others to learn alongside me.
That decision ultimately became En The Becoming.
En The Becoming is more than a brand—it’s a living reminder that none of us have to have life completely figured out before we begin. It’s a space where faith, creativity, financial education, entrepreneurship, travel, and personal growth all intersect. My goal is to make learning accessible and to encourage people to build lives that create freedom, not just for themselves but for generations to come.
Today, I’m preparing for one of the biggest adventures of my life: moving abroad for a season while continuing to document my journey, create educational content, and build a community centered around intentional living and becoming who God created us to be.
If there’s one thing I hope people take away from my story, it’s this: you don’t have to wait until you’ve arrived to make an impact. Sometimes the most meaningful thing you can do is simply be willing to become.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but looking back, I wouldn’t change it.
One of my biggest challenges has been learning to release the pressure of having everything figured out before taking the next step. For a long time, I thought I needed to have all the answers before I could start something new. I’ve learned that growth rarely works that way.
Professionally, stepping away from a career I had spent more than a decade building was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made. The beauty industry gave me so much—friendships, opportunities, confidence, and purpose. Leaving something familiar to pursue something completely different required a level of faith I had never exercised before.
Financially, I’ve also had to confront my own relationship with money. As an entrepreneur, I knew how to create income through my skills, but I realized I hadn’t been taught how to build long-term wealth or create a financial legacy. Instead of being discouraged by that realization, I chose to become a student again. That decision has completely changed the trajectory of my life.
I’ve also learned that comparison can be one of the biggest obstacles to purpose. It’s easy to feel behind when you see everyone else’s highlight reel, but I’ve found so much freedom in embracing my own pace and trusting God’s timing instead of chasing someone else’s.
Today, I don’t see challenges as roadblocks—I see them as invitations to grow. Every obstacle has shaped the person I’m becoming, and I’m grateful that my journey isn’t built on perfection but on perseverance, faith, and the willingness to keep showing up.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At my core, I’m an educator, storyteller, and community builder. I create spaces where people feel inspired to grow, ask better questions, and believe that a different future is possible.
Today, much of my work centers around En The Becoming, a platform I created to document my own journey while helping others navigate theirs. Through content, conversations, and educational resources, I explore the intersection of faith, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, creativity, travel, and intentional living. My hope is that people leave feeling more informed, more empowered, and more hopeful than when they arrived.
One area I’m especially passionate about is making financial education feel accessible. For many people, conversations about money, retirement, and life insurance can feel intimidating or out of reach. I’m passionate about translating those topics into everyday language so people can make confident decisions that create freedom and build a legacy for their families.
What I’m most proud of isn’t a title or a milestone—it’s having the courage to learn publicly. Instead of waiting until I had everything figured out, I chose to invite people into the process. That honesty has created genuine connection, and it’s shown me that people don’t need perfection—they need someone willing to go first.
I think what sets me apart is that I don’t see education as simply sharing information. I see it as creating transformation. Whether I was behind the chair as a cosmetologist, mentoring future professionals, or now teaching financial literacy, my mission has remained the same: to help people see what’s possible for their lives.
En The Becoming isn’t about arriving at a destination—it’s about embracing the lifelong process of becoming who God created us to be. Everything I create is an extension of that mission.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
One thing that surprises people is that I didn’t create En The Becoming because I had all the answers—I created it because I didn’t.
Most people assume creators or educators have everything figured out before they begin sharing. My experience has been the opposite. I’m deeply curious, and I’ve learned that some of the most meaningful growth happens when you’re willing to ask questions, learn publicly, and invite others into the journey with you.
Another surprise is that I’m naturally more reflective than people might expect. While I love building community and connecting with others, some of my best ideas come during quiet moments—whether I’m journaling, traveling, taking long walks, or simply sitting with God. Those moments of stillness are where many of the ideas behind En The Becoming, The Becoming Brief, and the work I create begin.
People also sometimes think my interests are unrelated because they span beauty, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, faith, travel, and creativity. To me, they’ve always been connected. Every chapter has taught me something about becoming, and together they’ve shaped the perspective I now get to share with others.
At the end of the day, I’m less interested in being known as an expert and more interested in being known as someone who makes people feel like growth is possible. If my willingness to learn encourages someone else to take their first step, then I feel like I’ve done my job.
