Rising Stars: Meet Mel Lee of Kansas City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mel Lee.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Born and raised in Kansas. Grew up in a family of five. Two sisters. Always been into skincare since I was young. One sister was the more girly girly while my other was more sporty. One was interested in makeup like art. While my other sister was into sun protection. Being the youngest I got to absorb skincare and makeup artistry.

Over the years I was more fond of the beauty industry and decided to take a leap of faith in my late 20’s. Got my esthetician License in KS. My passion are facials and waxing. Emphasis in corrective skin care. Which includes acne, hyperpigmentation and anti-aging.

Over the years in the industry I have hone in on my craft more and more by taking continuing education and attending trade shows. Which gave me more knowledge about product ingredients to give a more custom service to each client.

Now I am currently licensed in KS and TX. I also and licensed professional laser hair removal tech in TX as well.

My journey continues helping each individual achieve a healthy glow from within. Beautifully tailored for your esthetics.

Luxury isn’t a trend, healthy skin is lifestyle. I’m elevating skincare, one facial at a time.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Achieving one’s goals and inspirations can be stair-stepping. There will be great moments where you have inventory and clients. Then you have moments where the weeks are so slow due weather or travel season. Knowing how to retain clients and ninche helps me understand the clientele that’s right for me on a consistent basis.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an esthetician that specialize in corrective skincare. Hyperpigmentation, acne and anti-aging. Yes you can have a corrective treatment and also feel relaxed in the end of each service. My clients love their skin improvement each month to years. Helping the skin barrier is my passion. I’m set apart from others because I provide the intimate customer service while having ingredient product knowledge. You could give me a brand to work with an another studio and I could customize a facial and provide the results the client is looking for and the professional advice from me at the same time.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Having supportive small circle of family and friends to be my modal when I need to test out new products. They have been supportive from the start.
