Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Romero-Keck.
Hi Angela, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a mother of five and the wife of an incredibly talented husband.
Ironically, it was becoming a stay-at-home mom that ultimately led me to discovering my true calling.
Before that chapter of my life, I was a licensed hairdresser who managed several successful businesses. I’ve been working since I was 13 years old. While many kids spent their summers swimming or hanging out with friends, I was babysitting from 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. every day. Caring for others and working hard had always been woven into who I was.
Family has always been my greatest priority. I grew up believing that family comes first, and coming from a family of eight siblings with more cousins than I could ever count, that value was deeply ingrained in me. So when I became a stay-at-home mom, I poured every part of myself into my husband and children. I loved being there for them, and I still do.
But after experiencing severe postpartum depression, I realized something had changed.
Somewhere along the way, I had lost myself.
I wasn’t just Angela anymore. I was “Mom,” “Wife,” “Sister,” and “Daughter.” Those are roles I’m deeply grateful for, but I had forgotten who Angela was outside of taking care of everyone else. I remember looking at my life and realizing I no longer knew what truly brought me joy or made me feel alive.
My husband saw the struggle before I could fully put it into words. He knew I needed something that belonged just to me.
Around that time, I became fascinated with crystals and began studying their healing properties. Watching my passion grow, my husband surprised me with a trip to Arkansas so we could dig for our own crystals.
That trip changed everything.
For the first time in years, I felt truly alive. Standing in nature, uncovering crystals with my own hands, and reconnecting with a sense of wonder awakened something deep within me. It wasn’t just about the crystals it was about rediscovering myself.
As I continued exploring spirituality and energy healing, memories from my childhood began resurfacing.
I had always been an incredibly sensitive child. If someone around me was grieving or hurting, I would become overwhelmed with emotion. I would cry without understanding why because I was unknowingly absorbing the feelings of everyone around me. At the time, I had no explanation for it. Looking back now, I recognize that I was experiencing life as an empath long before I knew what that meant.
There were other experiences I couldn’t explain either. Lights would flicker around me. Complete strangers would open up and share their deepest stories with me as though we’d known each other forever. Funeral homes always felt different to me, although I couldn’t understand why.
One experience has stayed with me my entire life.
When I was in elementary school, my young cousin was tragically killed in a car accident. One day, while I was sitting alone in my bedroom crying, her favorite song suddenly began playing on my CD player. When it ended, it started over again.
Confused, I walked over and turned the stereo off.
A few minutes later, it turned itself back on and began playing the exact same song.
I was terrified. I unplugged the stereo from the wall and ran out of my room.
Today, I see that moment through a very different lens. I believe it was my cousin’s way of letting me know she was okay. But as a child, I didn’t have the understanding or language to make sense of what had happened.
As the years passed, experiences like that continued, but I pushed them aside. Like many people, I questioned myself and convinced myself there had to be another explanation.
Eventually, however, the signs became impossible to ignore.
The more I embraced my gifts, the more everything began to make sense. What once felt confusing and overwhelming became a source of purpose, healing, and connection.
Today, I have the privilege of serving others as a professional Medium, Intuitive Empath, and mentor. Looking back, every step of my journey from motherhood and postpartum depression to that life changing trip to Arkansas and the unexplainable experiences I’d carried since childhood was leading me exactly where I was always meant to be.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all.
If anything, this path has been one of the most rewarding and one of the most challenging journeys of my life.
One of my biggest struggles was learning to trust myself. For years, I questioned everything I experienced. I would receive information or have an unexplainable feeling and immediately try to talk myself out of it. I think many people who are intuitive experience that. Our logical minds naturally look for another explanation before we’re willing to trust what we’re sensing.
Another challenge was learning healthy energetic boundaries. As an empath, I spent much of my life carrying emotions that weren’t mine without even realizing it. I would leave certain places feeling emotionally drained, anxious, or overwhelmed and think something was wrong with me, when in reality I was absorbing the energy around me. Learning how to recognize what belonged to me and what didn’t completely changed my life.
There was also the fear of being judged.
Talking openly about mediumship isn’t always easy. Not everyone understands it, believes in it, or has had experiences that make sense of it. There were times I worried about what people would think, whether they would question my integrity, or whether I was making the right decision by sharing this part of myself publicly.
As I began offering readings, I also had to learn that I couldn’t take responsibility for every outcome. My role is to share the information I genuinely perceive as clearly and honestly as I can. Every reading is different, and every client receives information in their own way. Letting go of the pressure to be perfect allowed me to become a much better medium.
Building a business brought its own challenges as well. Like many small business owners, I had to learn marketing, social media, event planning, public speaking, teaching, and all of the behind-the-scenes work that most people never see. It stretched me far beyond my comfort zone.
Looking back, I don’t regret any of those struggles. Each one taught me something valuable. They helped me develop not only as a medium but as a person.
Today, those experiences allow me to meet my clients and students with greater compassion because I understand what it feels like to question yourself, to feel overwhelmed by your sensitivity, or to wonder if anyone else has experienced the things you have.
If my journey has taught me anything, it’s that growth rarely happens where we’re comfortable. Some of life’s greatest lessons come from learning to trust ourselves one step at a time.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a professional medium, intuitive empath, educator, and Advanced Certified Crystal Healer. My work is centered around helping people find healing, clarity, and peace whether that comes through connecting with a loved one in spirit, gaining insight into their own life, or learning to understand and trust their own intuitive abilities.
While mediumship is at the heart of what I do, I also work extensively with people who identify as empaths or who are beginning to explore their own spiritual gifts. Through private mentorship, workshops, and development classes, I help others learn to recognize their intuition, establish healthy energetic boundaries, and build confidence in themselves.
One thing I believe truly sets me apart is the way I approach my readings. I don’t rely on my clients telling me their story first. Instead, I begin by sharing what I perceive describing the personality, characteristics, or memories of a loved one in spirit, along with observations about the client’s own personality or current life circumstances. I want my clients to feel that they’re receiving information before they ever have to fill in the blanks. My goal is to create a space where they feel seen, supported, and able to experience the reading with an open heart.
I’m also known for being genuine and approachable. I don’t believe healing requires creating distance between myself and the people I serve. At the end of the day, I’m a wife, a mother of five, and someone who understands what it’s like to experience grief, uncertainty, and the search for purpose. Those life experiences have shaped the compassion I bring into every session.
One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of isn’t a business milestone it’s watching people leave a reading with hope. Whether someone has spent years carrying unanswered questions after losing a loved one or they’re finally learning how to embrace their sensitivity instead of fearing it, witnessing those moments of healing is incredibly meaningful to me.
I’m equally proud of the community I’ve been able to build through my development classes. Seeing students grow in confidence, trust themselves, and discover that they’re not alone in their experiences is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
More than anything, I hope people remember how they felt after working with me. My goal has never been simply to deliver information. It’s to offer compassion, validation, and a safe place where people can heal, grow, and reconnect with their loved ones, with their intuition, and with themselves.
If there is one thing I hope people know about me, it’s that I genuinely care. Every reading, every class, and every conversation is approached with respect, integrity, and the sincere desire to help others move forward with greater peace and understanding.
How do you think about happiness?
For me, happiness has never been about accomplishments or recognition. It’s found in the moments that remind me what really matters.
My family is, without question, the greatest joy in my life. Being a wife and a mother to five amazing children is my greatest blessing. They are my reason for everything I do, and some of my happiest moments are the simple ones laughing together, spending time at home, or creating memories that will last a lifetime.
I also find so much fulfillment in helping people heal. There is something incredibly meaningful about watching someone walk into a reading carrying grief, uncertainty, or emotional weight and leave with a sense of peace, hope, or comfort. Knowing that I’ve been able to help someone through one of the hardest seasons of their life is something I never take for granted.
Teaching brings me just as much joy. Watching my students begin to trust themselves, embrace their intuition, and realize they aren’t alone in their experiences is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. Seeing that spark of confidence grow reminds me why I do what I do.
Outside of my work, I find happiness in life’s quieter moments. I love spending time in nature, working with crystals, reading, learning, and continuing to grow both personally and spiritually. I’m a firm believer that we never stop learning, and I’m always excited to deepen my knowledge so I can better serve others.
Above all, what makes me happiest is living a life that feels aligned with who I truly am. For many years, I searched for my purpose. Today, I wake up grateful that I get to do work I genuinely love while making a positive difference in the lives of others. To me, that’s a life well lived.
