Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Williams.
Hi Christine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Our story started 40 years ago. I was in school for Floral Design and management. I was loving working with flowers and wanted to look earn to grow flowers also to be able to use them in my design work for weddings. Before long I realized I needed to grow food as well to feed my kids daily, even a couple times a day. With 5 kids we could not Fford to not grow it. By my 4th year of gardening I realized that we could not eat everything that was coming on the plants. I had to learn to put food up with using a water bath and a pressure cooker on my own. I was stressed, really would of loved a class or a friend to mentor me. Fast forward a few years I also learned how to ferment food. Because of this we choose our motto as an old Chinese proverb, “Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish feed him for a lifetime” So we strive go teach all ages how to grow, harvest and cook food as well as put food up safely in many different ways. We also teach floral design, flower farming and marketing to farmers or individuals.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
as a small business getting over hurdles, wearing many hats and putting all our energy, money and time into building a community engagement center is very hard.

We specialize in growing a wide range of produce then how do you use the produce to cook with, make added value products, teach classes, as well how to grow that produce or flowers in your own backyard.
I have been working with kids for over 30 years to teach them gardening, cooking and art classes.
What sets us apart is that we teach with hands own, “see it, hear it, do it!” Classes. In cooking class we want you to leave understanding what, how and why you did what you did in class.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
If our students grow in knowledge and hands on skills in the garden, kitchen, with art or entenpunership skills.
