Life & Work with Emma Tanguma of Other

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emma Tanguma.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve worked in the beauty industry 20+ years, my (handsome) husband has been tattooing 20+ years, we put the two together and here we are 8 years later!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’m not a risk taker. I’m very safe and cautious so starting something new and giving up my steady paycheck was extremely scary for me.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I offer cosmetic tattooing. Services include, permanent makeup, scar camouflage and nipple/areola. Specializing in natural looking permanent makeup. Inside Sailors World Famous Tattoos.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I’ve learned when to say “no”. Not everyone is a good candidate for what they want. Don’t be afraid of turning down a service or offering alternative options if you don’t think what they want is achievable.

  • Microshading and/or Nano Hair Stroke Brows $500

  • Upper Lash Enhancement $200
