Hi Alneishia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Alneishia Wright, and I’m honored to share my story as a licensed hairstylist and the owner of Wright Beauty Co.
My love for hair began at a young age. I spent a lot of time styling mannequins and dolls before moving on to my own hair, my family’s hair, and eventually my classmates’. I learned many of my braiding and styling techniques from my aunts, and through years of practice, my passion only continued to grow.
During my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to attend cosmetology school while finishing my diploma. Although I didn’t complete the cosmetology program at that time due to becoming a young mother and other life changes, I never gave up on my dream.
Eventually, I made the decision to return to school, earn my cosmetology license, and fully invest in my future. During that time, I created the name Wright Beauty Co. The “Co.” stands for Corporation because I always envisioned building something bigger than just a hairstyling business.
After graduating, COVID-19 changed the way many of us worked, and I began servicing clients from home. As my clientele grew, I took a leap of faith and committed to Wright Beauty full-time.
Since then, I’ve continued to find new ways to grow and elevate my business. Whether it’s enhancing the client experience, expanding my skills, or planning for the future, I’m always thinking about what’s next. I guess that’s just the boss in me.
Looking back, I realize every delay and challenge helped shape me into the woman and business owner I am today. This journey has taught me that success requires faith, consistency, sacrifice, and perseverance.
I hope my story encourages others to believe in themselves and remember that it’s never too late to bet on yourself.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building a business is never a straight or easy road. There are seasons of growth, and there are seasons that test you. The key is learning how to stay consistent, even when things don’t seem to be working in your favor. It’s easy to become discouraged or lose sight of the vision, but those are often the moments that build your character the most.
For me, I’ve experienced different stages throughout my journey—from doing hair from home, to working in a salon, to eventually having my own suite. Each stage came with new responsibilities and new lessons. As a mother and business owner, there are times when balancing it all can feel overwhelming. Learning to stay grounded through every season has been one of the greatest lessons I’ve learned.
Without structure and routine, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. I’ve learned that sometimes you have to be willing to go back to the drawing board, make adjustments, and keep improving. There’s so much information available, and part of entrepreneurship is learning through trial and error while continuing to trust the process.
At the end of the day, having a business mindset means staying committed to the vision God gave you, even when the journey is difficult. If you truly want something, you have to be willing to push through the seasons that test you, because those seasons often prepare you for the success you’ve been praying for.

I specialize in braided hairstyles, but I consider myself a versatile hairstylist. While braiding is my primary focus, I also provide services such as quick weaves, sleek ponytails, and other protective styles.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is becoming the best version of myself—not only for me, but for my children. I believe the greatest gift I can give them is an example of integrity, resilience, faith, and purpose.
I also care deeply about making a positive impact in my community. I want to inspire others to believe in themselves, pursue their goals, and never let life’s challenges define their future.
Above all, I value good character. I hope people remember not just the services I provided, but how I made them feel and the positive impact I had on their lives. To me, that’s what a meaningful legacy is all about.
