Community Highlights: Meet Rocky Williams of Raw Kc Podcast

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rocky Williams.

Hi Rocky, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
For me, RAW KC Podcast has never just been a podcast. It has always been a purpose.

When I first started RAW KC, I simply wanted to create a space where people could show up as their authentic selves. Too often we only hear the polished versions of people’s lives, but I wanted to have the conversations that happen after the cameras stop rolling—the ones about healing, growth, mental health, business, motherhood, mistakes, and starting over. That’s where the real lessons live.

As the show has grown, I’ve grown with it. What started as a podcast has become a platform that connects people, celebrates Kansas City, and gives everyday individuals, entrepreneurs, artists, and community leaders a place to tell their stories. Watching guests leave feeling heard has been one of the greatest rewards of this journey.

One thing I’ve learned is that you can’t build something meaningful alone. I’m grateful for my partner, Torie, whose support and belief in the vision have helped me continue pushing forward, even during the difficult moments. I’m also excited to welcome my new co-host, Boujee Dinero. Bringing a new voice into RAW KC opens the door for even more authentic conversations, fresh perspectives, and unforgettable moments for our audience.

Hosting events has also become an important extension of the brand. I love creating experiences where people can connect beyond the microphones. Whether it’s networking, celebrating local talent, or bringing the community together around meaningful conversations, those moments have shown me that people are craving genuine connection now more than ever.

That realization has inspired the next chapter of my journey. While I’m not ready to reveal everything just yet, I can say this: the vision has grown far beyond a podcast. I’m building something designed to create opportunities, elevate creators, strengthen community, and leave a lasting impact in Kansas City. RAW KC has become the foundation, and what’s coming next is a natural evolution of everything we’ve been working toward.

My mission has always remained the same—to create opportunities, tell real stories, and build a legacy that outlives me. If sharing my journey encourages even one person to bet on themselves, then every challenge, every setback, and every late night has been worth it.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has NOT been a smooth road. Honestly, it’s still kinda bumpy. You must believe & invest in yourself enough to keep going. Also realizing that it gets greater later. There is always a reminder to keep going and have faith.

We’ve been impressed with Raw Kc Podcast, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
RAW KC Podcast is more than a podcast—it’s a platform built on real conversations and real people. Around here, we don’t chase perfection; we celebrate authenticity. Our slogan says it all: “Real Ass Women Having Real Ass Conversations.” While the name highlights women, the platform welcomes anyone with a story that can inspire, educate, or help someone else feel less alone.

We specialize in conversations that go beyond the surface. From entrepreneurs and artists to community leaders and everyday people with extraordinary journeys, we create a space where guests can be themselves. We talk about business, mental health, motherhood, relationships, personal growth, and everything in between because life isn’t one-dimensional, and neither are the people we interview.

What sets RAW KC apart is that we genuinely care about the person behind the title. We’re not just looking for viral moments or clickbait headlines. We want people to leave our studio feeling seen, heard, and valued. We believe everyone’s story has the power to change someone else’s life.

As the brand has grown, so has the vision. RAW KC now extends beyond the microphone through events, community experiences, and opportunities that bring people together in meaningful ways. Those experiences have shown me that people are hungry for authentic connections, not just content.

One of the things I’m most proud of is building a brand that people trust. Guests often tell us they felt comfortable sharing parts of their story they’ve never shared publicly before. That’s something I never take for granted. Being recognized as a podcast that people feel safe with means more to me than any number or statistic.

We’re also entering an exciting new chapter. With my partner, Torie, supporting the vision behind the scenes and my new co-host, Boujee Dinero, bringing fresh energy and perspective to the conversations, RAW KC continues to evolve while staying true to its foundation.

For our readers, I want them to know this: RAW KC is just getting started. We’re building something bigger than a podcast. We’re building a community, creating opportunities, and opening doors that will have a lasting impact on Kansas City and beyond. If you’ve got a story, a dream, or a purpose, there’s a place for you at RAW KC. Book and/or sit with your KCPCA FINALIST NOW!

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Staying RAW is what matters to me the most. I’m a factual type of person. No funny business around me! Make it make sense & cents.
