Today we’d like to introduce you to India Stewart.
Hi India, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Your Healing Touch LLC was founded in 2021 with a simple but meaningful mission: to improve people’s quality of life through safe, professional foot and nail care. After completing my training as a Licensed Medical Nail Technician (LMNT) and Certified Master Pedicurist (CMP), I recognized that many individuals—especially seniors, people living with diabetes, and those with mobility challenges—had limited access to specialized foot care. I wanted to bridge that gap by bringing compassionate, preventative care directly to those who needed it most.
Since relocating from Atlanta, Georgia, to Kansas City, Missouri, in 2023, Your Healing Touch has continued to grow through community partnerships, referrals, and a commitment to excellence. Today, we proudly provide both mobile and in-suite medical pedicures and healthy nail services, serving clients throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area. Our focus extends beyond cosmetic nail care—we help clients maintain healthy feet, reduce the risk of complications, and improve their overall well-being through education and preventative care.
As the business has grown, so has our vision. We continue to expand our services, strengthen relationships with healthcare providers and senior living communities, and educate the public on the importance of proper foot health. Looking ahead, our goal is to build a trusted wellness brand that not only provides exceptional medical nail care but also creates employment opportunities, expands community outreach, and becomes a recognized leader in preventative foot health throughout the region.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has been rewarding, but it has not been without challenges. Like many small business owners, I have experienced the realities of building a business from the ground up with limited resources. Relocating meant rebuilding my client base, establishing new professional relationships, and earning the trust of an entirely new community. As a solo entrepreneur, I have also worn many hats—providing services while simultaneously managing marketing, scheduling, finances, operations, and business development.
Another challenge has been educating the public about the value of medical nail care. Many people are unaware that preventative foot care can help reduce complications for individuals with diabetes, circulation issues, or mobility limitations. Building awareness has required consistent community outreach, networking, and education. Like many service-based businesses, I have also navigated appointment cancellations, seasonal fluctuations in demand, and balancing business growth with maintaining high-quality, personalized care for every client.
Despite these obstacles, each challenge has strengthened both me and the business. They have taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying focused on my mission. Every setback has become an opportunity to learn, improve, and continue building a business that truly makes a difference in the lives of the people we serve.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At Your Healing Touch, we specialize in medical pedicures, healthy nail care, and preventative foot wellness for individuals of all ages, with a special focus on seniors, people living with diabetes, and clients with mobility or chronic health conditions. We offer both mobile and in-suite services because we believe quality foot care should be accessible, convenient, and delivered with compassion. Our goal is not simply to make feet look better, but to improve comfort, mobility, confidence, and overall quality of life through safe, evidence-based care.
What I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built with my clients. Many of them come to me after years of discomfort, embarrassment, or being told there were limited options for their foot health. Seeing someone walk away pain-free, regain confidence, or avoid more serious complications reminds me why I started this business. Every client is treated with dignity, respect, and individualized care.
What truly sets Your Healing Touch apart is our commitment to education, prevention, and personalized service. As a Licensed Medical Nail Technician and Certified Master Pedicurist, I combine advanced training with genuine compassion to provide care that goes beyond a traditional salon experience. I take the time to educate clients about healthy nail and foot care, identify concerns early, and collaborate with healthcare providers when appropriate. My mission has always been to create a safe, welcoming environment where clients feel cared for, empowered, and confident in their overall foot health.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is knowing that the work I do genuinely improves someone’s quality of life. There is something incredibly rewarding about helping a client walk without pain, regain confidence in their feet, or simply feel seen and cared for. Many of my clients are seniors, individuals living with diabetes, or people who have struggled to find specialized foot care. Knowing that I can make a meaningful difference in their health and well-being is what motivates me every day.
Beyond my business, my children are my greatest source of joy and inspiration. They remind me why I continue to work hard, pursue new opportunities, and build a legacy that extends beyond financial success. I want them to see the value of resilience, compassion, and entrepreneurship.
Ultimately, what makes me happiest is serving others. Whether it’s educating the community about preventative foot health, helping someone feel more confident, or creating opportunities through my business, I believe true success comes from making a positive impact. Knowing that Your Healing Touch is changing lives one client at a time is the greatest reward I could ask for.
