Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Nesbit.
Hi Victoria, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved all things beauty. I was constantly cutting my own hair, my siblings’ hair, and even attempting to give our pets makeovers. Looking back, I guess you could say I found my passion pretty early. Sorry to my siblings and parents, but as they say practice makes perfect!
As I got older, that passion only grew. In high school, I took a business class where we had to create a 10-year plan for our future. Without hesitation, I wrote that I wanted to own my own salon one day. At the time it felt like a big dream, but I never let go of it.
After graduation, I attended esthetics school and then went straight into cosmetology school to expand my skills and build the career I had always envisioned.
When COVID hit, the beauty industry and the world I felt incredibly uncertain. Instead of letting fear hold me back, I decided to take a leap of faith. In 2020, I opened my own business with a vision of creating a space where every guest would feel heard, valued, and confident. I took drastic sanitary measures to ensure I was starting my business off right and maintaining beyond the normal standards. It wasn’t easy starting a business during a pandemic, but taking that risk turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In the beginning especially, last-minute cancellations, slow weeks, and the uncertainty that came with starting a business had me questioning whether I had made the right decision.
There were moments when I felt discouraged, but I stayed consistent and prayed over my business daily.
Every challenge helped me grow—not only as a business owner, but as a person. Those difficult seasons made the successful ones even more rewarding, and they’ve taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of believing in yourself even when things feel uncertain. And nothing is impossible with God by your side.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in dimensional color, women’s haircuts, and my newest addition—custom spray tanning. I love creating beautiful, lived-in color that enhances each client’s natural beauty, whether that’s a bright blonding session or a rich brunette refresh.
I think what sets me apart is the environment I strive to create for my guests. My salon is more than just a place to get your hair done—it’s a safe space where people can come in, relax, feel heard, and truly be themselves.
I believe there is so much power in the relationships built behind the chair, and I’m intentional about creating a space filled with kindness, encouragement, and positivity. I also pray over my salon space and my guests, asking that everyone who walks through my door feels welcomed, cared for, and leaves feeling a little more confident than when they arrived. We’re all human at the end of the day, and if I leave people better than when I found them, I’m doing my job right.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
The happiest part of this journey has been the ability to bless others through this line of work. Building long-lasting relationships with my guests and watching them become more like family has been such a gift. Knowing where I started and seeing how far I’ve come, I’m so grateful for the support and love these amazing people have shown me. They have a way of making the hard moments feel lighter and reminding me why I do what I do.
I also love being able to give back to my community through random blessing drives and finding little ways to make someone’s day a little brighter. It’s so much bigger than hair; it’s about connection, kindness, and creating a space where people feel seen and cared for.
