Today we’d like to introduce you to Kindle Thompson.
Hi Kindle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am Kindle Thompson, an actress, model, and creative coach based in Kansas City, Missouri. My journey into the entertainment and fashion industries began with a profound passion for visual storytelling and performance. I started by immersing myself in the world of modeling, where I worked hard to build a versatile portfolio. Over the years, this dedication allowed me to gain extensive experience across runway, print, and editorial platforms.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a completely smooth road, but the challenges are exactly what shaped me into the creative coach I am today. In the modeling and acting industries, you face a lot of constant rejection, which forces you to quickly build a thick skin. Early on, one of my biggest struggles was navigating the unpredictable nature of gig work and learning how to maintain my confidence when a role or campaign didn’t go through. As I navigated the highs and lows of my own career, I realized how much I loved guiding others through their artistic journeys. This inspired me to expand my path into creative coaching. Today, I balance my time between performing on set, modeling for brand campaigns, and collaborating with other talent. I help other creatives unlock their potential, build their confidence, and navigate the industry, using everything I have learned from my own diverse experiences to empower the next generation.
Overcoming the pressure to fit into specific boxes. Balancing runway, print, acting, and collaboration meant I had to learn how to manage my time efficiently and protect my creative energy. Embracing my versatility—rather than trying to be just one thing—was a tough but necessary breakthrough. Learning how to turn those moments of doubt into fuel for my career is what ultimately inspired me to inspire other creatives, ensuring they have the tools to handle the same industry struggles.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At my core, I am a visual storyteller. As an actress and model, my work revolves around capturing raw human emotion and breathing life into creative visions. I specialize in bringing high-energy authenticity to runway, print, and editorial campaigns, while also diving deep into complex characters on screen.
Some of my favorite collaborations have been with About-Face from Halsey, and Tirza Design.
I am best known for my versatility and my deeply empathetic approach to performance. Whether I am walking a runway, posing for a high-fashion editorial spread, or delivering dialogue on set, I focus on connecting with the audience on a truly human level. What sets me apart is this exact emotional depth. I don’t just see modeling and acting as jobs; I see them as opportunities to hold up a mirror to the human experience, channeling my own life lessons and empathy into every project I touch..
What I am most proud of is my resilience and consistency in an industry that constantly changes. I am incredibly proud of how I have stayed true to myself, turning the inevitable challenges of this business into fuel for my artistic growth. Every time a project wraps and I know we’ve created something that makes people truly feel something, that is what I am proudest of.
How do you define success?
For me, especially being 21 and navigating this crazy industry, success isn’t about hitting some final destination or having a perfect checklist. Right now, success is all about growth, staying true to myself, and having the creative freedom to do what I love. It’s walking off a runway or wrapping a set knowing I gave it my absolute all and brought real, unfiltered emotion to the project.
It’s also about resilience. In modeling and acting, you hear “no” a lot, so to me, success is just waking up the next day, trusting my talent, and keeping that passion alive. If I can look back at the end of every year and see that I’ve grown as an artist, stayed authentic to who I am, and made people truly feel something through my work, then I’m winning.
