Community Highlights: Meet Lisa Lola of Lisa Lola Healing Arts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Lola.

Hi Lisa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I got started in a rural area on a farm in Iowa. Born into a family based on service, hard work, helping each other out and doing the right thing. There was also love, care and connection to God. I grew up around a lot of health crisis and subconsciously I think that activated my awareness of the need for healing. When my father passed at 23 it catalyzed my spiritual awakening. It brought forth the pain-staking question of “where does the spirit go when the body dies?” and sent me on a soul quest of needing to answer that question. Which unbeknownst to me, sent me on a very deep healing journey. Along that path I met healer’s of all kinds. Psychics, mediums, energy healer’s, consciousness guides, yoga and meditation teachers, sound therapists, reiki practitioners and shamans. Through each of them I noticed I would have a new perspective, be granted permission to feel my heart, and always walked away feeling more like myself and somehow connected to “The Universe” aka: all that is. The clarity, peace and harmony I received from these experiences felt exhilarating. All a sudden everything started to make sense and that sent me onto a very powerful path of self-discovery and Spiritual understanding. I guess you’d say that I listened to my intuition accutely and followed what it told me to a T. Often times not even stopping to ask “is this right for me?” and just acting on what that guidance was. Somehow I **knew** at the time to not allow fear into my decision-making process at all. To trust what I felt and just follow the breadcrumbs of what opened me up and resonated as truth. Doing this worked. Ultimately it landed me in just the right spaces for healing and expansion. Connecting me with the aligned community, friends, mentors and teachers to support me in transforming my pain into my purpose. In healing retreats I began to do random channeling sessions and energy healings and was receiving powerful feedback. I really couldn’t believe what was happening but thought, “there’s something to this and I seem to have a skill here” I asked Spirit what to do with that and they said to commit to asking them every day, for 90 days what my purpose was and to see what happened. I ran the test with pretty much no attachment because I had no idea what I was doing, just curious to see what following the theory provided – if anything. Magically at the 90 day mark I had notated that the answer to the question, “what is my purpose and why am I here?” was the same: Your purpose is to be a Spiritual Healer in this life and help other people heal emotionally, spiritually and energetically. Your mission is to serve love and support others in opening their hearts and bringing Spirit online. When I realized the consistency of my results I said to Spirit, “well okay if that’s true, then what do I do next?” They said ask for an opportunity to say yes to. The next day I was chatting with my energy healer who’d become a friend on the phone and he mentioned at the end of the call that he “had to go” because he “had to work on his curriculum to teach the healer’s how to channel” I knew that was my sign to move forward. I signed up for the course and began learning how to channel in the next 2 weeks. Then I developed channeling Spirit into my daily practice and they told me to create a healing arts business. Telling me how to start it, what to do, who to practice on and when to quit my 7 year career as an advertising producer. Every step of the way, they were there telling me what move to make next with supreme accuracy. They even told me when my business would turn full time and how much money I needed to save to get me through its beginning phases. The guidance they gave me was incredible. All I had to do was listen and follow through. And somehow I was able to do so without either of the main interruptors getting in the way – Fear or Attachment. With my energy open, trusting, and free, I was able to create Lisa Lola Healing Arts with little-no resistance in the way. I moved with ease, joy, curiousity and play. I can only accredit that to the power of an open-heart and connection to Spirit.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the beginning it was the smoothest sailing road I’ve ever been on. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think of opening a business let alone it going so easily and feeling so natural. I know Spirit did it that way to keep me on my mission, because obstacles did come. Many, hard ones. I have often found myself going through the collective’s healing crisis so that I can better understand humanity. Spirit often gives me the exasperated, most bizarre experiences so I deeply know what people are going through and how to show up for them with empathy, compassion and care. Having my own roller-coaster of energetic imbalances, health issues, and mental and emotional processes, Spirit teaches me how to navigate the turbulence and read the energy for root-cause healing. Showing me how to help others heal by healing myself. I’ve had many radical obstacles that most people have never heard of when I tell them or are so wildly obscene they can’t keep their attention and the heavy energy of the challenge has them fade quickly. Like when I had an NDE (near-death experience) earlier this year. My house had a gas leak and I got CO (carbon monoxide) poisoning and it almost killed me. I was sick for months and felt like I was dying. I could not figure out why and neither could the nurses or doctors. I was doing everything to save my health and nothing was helping. I wasn’t making improvement, I was getting worse as the days went on. Right when I felt like I’d had enough and was getting close to giving up and crossing the veil, Spirit swooped in and said, “not yet, you have a greater purpose to fulfill” That message initiated a spark of energy where I was reminded why I am here and I got taken on a long road of recovery to bring my life back online. Ultimately teaching me the lesson of saving my own life and hence, can now do so for others navigating the path of health crisis. I understand what it’s like to walk through the valley of death. It’s full of this weird mixture of terror, chaos, relief, completion and peace. Noting makes sense and then everything will make sense, all within a moments time. It’s quite an odd and strange experience. And here I am, living to tell the tale while having the deeper meaning intact – I now can support people who are dying or on their death bed. I know what that interesting mix of terror and order feels like.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like best about this city is the quality of people. What I like least is seeing how the city isn’t taking care of its people. The growing population of homelessness, drug addiction and people in pain without access to the necessary resources for recovery – when I know they are available – bothers me deeply. I’m not okay with it.
