Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiki Life Jasmine Johnson.
Hi Kiki Life, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Already being great friends, we balance each other so well, that it seemed to be a no brainer that we went into this venture together! Jasmine was already growing in the wine industry and I (Kiki) joined her to support but ended up finding myself as well. The idea for our show literally came from an impromptu tasting on Jasmines porch. We launched our in person and virtual tasting events, which spawned into going live and building our platform amongst social media. Weekly we invite people to taste with us and indulge in wine education.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing worth having is easy! We’ve definitely had to learn the art of “The Pivot”, because anything and EVERYTHING could be thrown at you. But we thrive off of turning issues into opportunities. Obstacles could range from finding a studio, to changing locations, dealing with delays, contract negotiations, plans faltering, like… you name it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are The Wines & Chocolates Show. Kiki, the Kountess of Kabernet and Jasmine J, the Wine Goddess are tastemakers, storytellers, and your new favorite guides into a world reimagined with style, soul, and just the right amount of sparkle.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to make wine approachable, inclusive, and exciting—while opening the door to luxury, wellness, and cultural education by building community through in person and virtual wine tastings along with having our very own podcast: “The Wines & Chocolates Show”.
Our values? Access, authenticity, and elevation. We believe everyone deserves to experience quality, to understand what they’re consuming, and to feel invited—not intimidated—at the table. We’re building community by supporting Black vintners, and redefining what “good taste” really means.
The Wines & Chocolates Show, is where culture meets corks. One episode, we’re pairing a bold Napa Cab with artisan chocolate; the next, it’s Champagne and Popeyes. We meet people where they are—and then we level them up. It’s fun, it’s educational, it’s aspirational—but most importantly, it’s ours.
We’re tapping into a multi-billion-dollar gap where Black consumers are ready for better, and Black creators are ready to lead. Wine has never had a true cultural home in our community—we are building it.
We’re not just talking about wine. We’re transforming lifestyles. We are the proof, the platform, and the invitation.
And we’re ready to pour into something bigger!
