Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlee Tyler-Lemos.
Hi Ashlee, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always loved doing hair. My Oma ( German grandmother) was a hairdresser, and she encouraged my creativity and love for the beauty industry form a young age. After my divorce in my mid-twenties , I decided it was time to pursue that passion and enrolled in cosmetology school.
at the time , I was a single mother balancing school, work, and raising my son. I bartended and served tables whenever i wasn’t in class or with him. It was one of the most challenging seasons of my life, but also one of the most rewarding because I was building a future doing something I truly loved.
After earning my license I worked in salons while navigating life’s many milestones, including welcoming my second son and raising my family. Today I work full time at a law firm while also pursuing my passion as a wedding hairstylist.
Bridal hairstyling allows me to blend my creativity, connection and service in a way that is incredibly full filling . I love being part of such an important day and helping brides feel confident, beautiful and genuinely themselves. What began as a dream years ago has grown into a meaningful business that I continue to build alongside my career and family.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The biggest challenge has been learning how to ear so many hats at once. I’ve been a single mom, student, salon stylist, and now back to full time employee at law firm while building my wedding hairstylist business. There are times I feel stretched to my limits and concerned if I was doing enough in any one of those areas.
but those experiences have taught me so much , in time management, resilience and the value of showing up even when things aren’t easy. All those experiences and challenges have shaped me into the person and stylist I am today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create looks that help my brides feel like the best versions of themselves. My style tends to focus on soft, romantic and timeless hairstyles. That will feel comfortable and wearable throughout the day.
What I enjoy most about wedding hairstying is the connection I build with my brides. Wedding mornings can be emotional and sometimes stressful and I take pride in creating a calm and positive enviorment my brides can relax and enjoy their experience. My end goal is to never to JUST create great hair but help my bride feel confident and beautiful and cared for on such an important day.
I feel I bring both creativity and professionalism to every wedding, and balancing a full time career with a law firm while running a bridal business has taught me those skills in communication, organization and reliability. In which I feel sets me apart in this business. But I am most proud in the relationships I’ve built and referrals I’ve earned from past brides and fellow artists.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is my family , meaningful connections and creating a life that reflects who I am. As a mother of two boys so many of my decisions have been driven by wanting to provide stability and good example of the value of hard work and perseverance. I also value authenticity whether I am work at the law firm spending time with my loved ones, or styling a bride. I believe remember how you make them feel. I believe to show up with kindness and professionalism and genuine care for others.
and finally I value growth. My journey hasnt been easy but its all taught me lessons. I am proud of my life I’ve built and grateful for the continued opportunity’s. My success isnt just about my achievments but about creating a life filled with purpose , connection and moments that matter.
