Hi Mynesha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well hello, im Mynesha Hagen 35 year old, hair specialist, makeup artist, nail tech, model, influencer, and creative born in kcmo. Im owner of nenenofraudzzllc. This is my 3rd interview with this magazine, and i like to say thank you for helping each hidden gem feel seen. These days im creating more than ever my next big goal is creating a kc heart for my city. Its my favorite thing to do in the summer. The parade of hearts is amazing I was a finalist but wasn’t chosen this year but it pushes me to keep moving forward and following my dreams of mixing hair and art as one ….The main reason I started doing hair was because of the creative freedom it brought me and just seeing the smiles and tears and personal moments that come with blessings someone through their hair. We all deserve to feel as beautiful as we already are heart mind body and soul . I hope my story inspires you to love, be kind to others, keep going no matter what and to stay strong. You got this
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No road is easy but its those days were u are crying with your client because she survived breast cancer twice, the client who received a new liver and just ready to get back to her life, the client who hasn’t felt pretty in a while because she had to sacrifice for her babies to be good, the client who wants to go to prom but doesn’t know where to start these are the people I do it for this is what makes the struggle all worth it in the end…my biggest struggles was , a cyst on my brain that had to be drained n removed if i would have waited another day i would have been brain dead, its been 12 years ,getting my tumor removed and fighting for my own life in icu, its been 6 years and im doing better than ever , last year I got into a car accident that left my hands tingling for months and I thought I would never do hair because of nerve damage its been 7 months and im doing just fine. I say this to say the road to success is never easy but the lesson you learned and the people you meet along the way lets you know you have purpose and you should keep on your journey its beautiful even with struggle. Keep going and don’t let anyone stop you, you have dreams to accomplish.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As a hair specialist I help women who are dealing with extreme hair loss from cancer. Lupus, alopecia, and more. Im proud that I get to help these women and children live a normal day to day life with out being judged by a society that makes them feel like they dont belong. I got into this after dealing with my own set of health problems so I just kno how it feels to want to look as beautiful as you once did before all the health problems..I take pride in my work and each and every women who books with me and sits in my chair. I Want them to leave feeling amazing every single time .
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Reach out to other creatives, dont be scared, working with others is a plus for me I might do a custom color and another stylist does the install we both can use it for content. If you want something just go for it the worse answer u can get is a no. You dont give up u find someone else who is on your same creative level and you work. Post post post everything is content. Just not reels post on your story and comment on people’s post n interact with the people on your post. Happy networking you got this creative
