Hi Mason, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Homoly Design + Build started as a family business founded by my dad, Andrew Homoly, and my grandfather, Guy Homoly, in 1997. The company was built on hard work, relationships, and a genuine passion for craftsmanship. Growing up around the business, I was able to see firsthand the level of care and attention that went into every home and every client relationship, and that foundation has shaped the way we approach the business today.
Over the years, we have continued to evolve while staying true to those core values. Today, we specialize in luxury custom homes and high end remodels throughout Kansas City, with a focus on thoughtful design, high performance building, meticulous craftsmanship, and a transparent design build process.
We have been fortunate to work with incredible clients and an amazing team over the years, and recognitions like being named National Custom Home Builder of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders and receiving DesignKC’s Project of the Year have been meaningful milestones for us.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not always been a smooth road. The custom home industry comes with a lot of moving parts and requires constant adaptability. There is always the potential for challenges with supply chain shifts, timelines, and the day to day problem solving that naturally comes with construction.
At the same time, those challenges have helped shape who we are as a company. They have pushed us to improve our processes and systems, strengthen relationships, and stay focused on communication, craftsmanship, and doing right by our clients.
