Hi Chelsi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always found interest in photographs, especially of my ancestors because it helps me appreciate their history. One photograph can tell you so much about a person’s life & understand where they came from. My Great Aunt would always take pictures of nature & create her own cards. It gave me a sense of peace when observing them. God’s creation is breathtaking. Documenting the experiences is just a bonus. It wasn’t until around 2013 when my dad gifted me a little Coolpix camera that I started taking photos myself. The love of photography was always there; I just didn’t have the confidence or equipment to follow through with my dream. Fast forward to 2019 when my husband blessed me with my first real camera. That was the moment I knew I wanted to pursue photography. I focused on nature & landscape photography in the beginning. There was a time I began getting frustrated with some challenges I was facing & put it all on the back burner. A few years later, I had an ex-photographer reach out to me. She said that God told her to give me her equipment. He knew what I needed in that moment, a little spark at just the right time. I began learning as much as possible in my spare time & soon branched out to photographing people – a path I didn’t realize would become so deeply fulfilling. Heavenly Reflections Photography LLC was then created. I am so blessed to be on this journey. To me, it’s not just taking photographs; it’s my ministry.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely been a great challenge. My wants were put on hold while taking care of my sick dad & having children. I believe every struggle I have faced was part of God’s plan. He was strengthening me, giving me time to learn, & enjoy the time I had with my family. I’m honestly glad I didn’t start the business during that time because it would have led to burnout very quickly. I am a strong believer in everything happening for a reason.

I specialize in outdoor portrait and lifestyle photography, blending beautiful landscapes with meaningful memories. I capture life’s most precious moments, from a newborn’s first breath to special events. Solo & family sessions are probably my most adored. I have a love for outdoors & adventuring so that’s usually what we are doing during most sessions! My goal is to encapsulate God’s Glory through each image. With a natural approach, I aim to capture stunning images that showcase the beauty of life. Based in North-Central Missouri. Servicing Counties: Carroll, Caldwell, Lafayette, Livingston, Ray+ but always willing to travel!
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I let fear control the decisions I have made for the majority of my life. It hindered me in so many ways. I chose to believe lies over the truth & my life reflected that. The enemy will do everything he can to keep you from the purpose God has on your life; keep you quiet, isolated, feeling defeated, lonely, angry, depressed, & anxious. “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10) We have the authority to take every thought captive & make it obedient to Christ. The faster we can recognize the attacks, the easier it is to fight against them. Hold onto your dreams & keep pushing forward. If God tells you to do something, bet that he will make a way! “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)
