Hi Andrey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story began with a passion for technology and a belief that strong engineering can solve real-world problems at scale. I studied computer science and engineering, and over time I found my professional path in financial technology — an industry where innovation, security, and reliability directly affect how financial systems operate.
Today, I work as a Senior Fintech Engineer with more than eight years of experience building secure and scalable financial platforms for U.S. hedge funds, asset managers, treasury teams, and institutional clients. My work has included backend architecture, cloud modernization, encryption, financial data protection, performance optimization, and modernization of legacy enterprise systems.
What makes fintech especially meaningful to me is that it sits at the center of economic activity. A well-designed financial system can reduce inefficiencies, improve trust, protect sensitive data, and open the door to better financial access. That is why I am especially interested in the future of financial infrastructure — systems that can make financial services faster, safer, more transparent, and more accessible for people and businesses across the United States.
My journey has been shaped by continuous growth, complex technical challenges, and the responsibility of working in highly regulated financial environments. I am proud to contribute to technology that supports the financial sector today, while also focusing on ideas that can help shape a more accessible and efficient financial future.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not always been a smooth road. My career has been built in an industry where technology, finance, security, and responsibility all come together. That makes the work exciting, but also very demanding.
One of the biggest struggles was learning how to solve problems at a larger scale. Early in my career, I focused mostly on writing good code and delivering features. Over time, I had to grow into someone who could understand entire financial systems — how they are designed, how they perform under pressure, how sensitive data is protected, and how technology decisions affect real business operations.
There were also many moments when I had to adapt quickly: new technologies, complex legacy systems, cloud modernization, cybersecurity requirements, and high expectations from financial clients. Those experiences were challenging, but they helped me build confidence and maturity as an engineer.
I am grateful for the difficult parts of the journey because they taught me persistence and discipline. In fintech, you learn that real progress often comes from solving problems that are complicated, uncomfortable, and important. That mindset has shaped the way I work today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work as a Senior Fintech Engineer, and my focus is on building technology that helps financial systems become more secure, efficient, and dependable. In simple terms, I work behind the scenes on the digital infrastructure that helps financial organizations operate safely and smoothly.
Throughout my career, I have worked with financial platforms used by U.S. hedge funds, asset managers, treasury teams, and other financial organizations. My specialty is taking complex systems and making them stronger — improving security, protecting sensitive financial data, modernizing older technology, and making platforms faster and more reliable.
One of the things I am most proud of is contributing to technology that people may never see directly, but that makes a real difference. For example, I have worked on projects that improved financial data protection, strengthened cloud infrastructure, and reduced system costs while improving scalability. To me, that kind of work matters because strong financial technology helps create trust.
What sets me apart is that I am not only interested in the technical challenge. I am also interested in the impact technology can have on people’s lives. I believe the future of fintech is about making financial services safer, smarter, and more accessible, and I am proud to contribute to that future.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Yes, I believe the right books and resources can really shape how you think. Since I work in fintech, I try to learn not only about technology, but also about markets, investment structures, risk, and how the financial system is changing.
Some books that have influenced the way I think are The Man Who Solved the Market by Gregory Zuckerman, which gives an inside look at quantitative investing and data-driven finance; Hedge Fund Market Wizards by Jack Schwager, which shares lessons from hedge fund managers about discipline, risk, and decision-making; and Mastering Private Equity by Claudia Zeisberger, Michael Prahl, and Bowen White, which is a strong resource for understanding private markets and investment operations.
For crypto and digital assets, I also like resources that explain the technology behind the headlines. Books like The Bitcoin Standard and DeFi and the Future of Finance help explain how blockchain, digital assets, and decentralized finance are changing the conversation around money and financial infrastructure.
Outside of books, I follow financial technology news, market structure discussions, AWS and Microsoft engineering resources, and research around modern lending, digital banking, and financial accessibility. For me, the goal is not just to stay updated — it is to understand where finance is going and how technology can make financial systems more efficient, secure, and accessible.
I think the best professionals in fintech are always learning from both sides: the engineering side and the financial side. That combination helps me do my best work.
