Two cousins from Kansas City are revitalizing urban neighborhoods with their passion for good food and community connection. Drawing from our rich family traditions and culinary influences, we aim to create an experience that feels like home. We believe that everyone deserves access to delicious, nutritious meals, regardless of where they live.
Our goal is to foster connections among residents by providing a welcoming space where neighbors can gather, share meals, and celebrate the rich culture of Kansas City.
By sourcing fresh ingredients, they craft dishes that celebrate the vibrant flavors, from soulful comfort food to innovative takes on classic recipes.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We don’t have any obstacles or challenges that other restaurants face on a daily basis. It is understood that the challenges we do have come with doing business in the food industry.

We are a Kansas City–based, family-driven food concept founded by two cousins with a passion for great food and community connection. We specialize in soulful comfort food with a modern twist, creating high-quality, flavorful meals using fresh ingredients that reflect both tradition and innovation.
We’re known for delivering what many call some of the best food in Kansas City, but more importantly, we’re known for creating an experience that feels like home. Our focus goes beyond the plate—we aim to provide a welcoming space where people can gather, connect, and celebrate the culture and spirit of our city.
What we’re most proud of is our ability to bring people together while making great food accessible in urban communities that are often overlooked. Seeing our food create moments, conversations, and connections is what drives us every day.
What sets us apart is our authenticity and purpose. We’re not just another food business—we’re rooted in family, culture, and community impact. Every dish we serve is intentional, blending rich culinary traditions with fresh creativity, while staying committed to uplifting the neighborhoods we serve.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, we were raised in a close-knit family that valued hard work, respect, and staying connected to our roots. Our family is originally from Marshall, Texas, and over 40 years ago made the move to Kansas City to build a foundation and create new opportunities. That blend of Southern upbringing and Midwest culture shaped who we are today.
Personality-wise, we’ve always been driven, hands-on, and community-oriented. We were the type to stay busy—whether it was helping out family, working early, or finding ways to turn ideas into something real. Food was always at the center of our upbringing. We grew up around home-cooked meals, family gatherings, and recipes that were passed down, which naturally sparked our passion for cooking.
Our interests were rooted in both creativity and connection. We enjoyed being around people, bringing others together, and creating experiences—whether that was through food, music, or just being present in the community. That same energy carried into adulthood and ultimately into what we do now.
Those early experiences taught us the importance of authenticity, consistency, and giving back—values that still guide how we move and how we serve our community today.
