Today we’d like to introduce you to Heidi Carroll.
Hi Heidi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a board-certified nurse practitioner, and my clinical background is rooted in cardiology and geriatrics. Those experiences gave me a deep appreciation for preventative care, patient relationships, and truly listening to what people need to feel their best. Over time, I found myself increasingly drawn to the wellness and aesthetic side of medicine—helping people not only feel better physically, but also feel more confident and energized in their everyday lives.
That passion led me to start Sunflower Wellness and Hydration, a mobile, concierge-style service designed to bring high-quality care directly to clients in the comfort of their own homes. I wanted to create an experience that felt personal, elevated, and convenient—something that blended medical expertise with a more approachable, lifestyle-focused approach to health and beauty.
Today, I focus on treatments like IV hydration, wrinkle relaxers, and other wellness services, with the goal of helping clients look refreshed, feel revitalized, and maintain long-term wellness. It’s been incredibly rewarding to build something that reflects both my clinical background and my passion for helping people feel like the best version of themselves.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all—it definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but that’s part of what makes the journey meaningful. Transitioning from a traditional clinical setting into building my own business came with a steep learning curve. In the hospital and clinic world, you’re focused purely on patient care. As a business owner, you’re suddenly wearing every hat—provider, marketer, accountant, scheduler, and everything in between.
One of the biggest challenges has been building awareness and trust in a new type of model. Mobile, concierge-style care is still relatively new to many people, so there’s been a lot of education involved—helping clients understand that they can receive safe, high-quality treatments in the comfort of their own home.
There have also been the normal growing pains of starting a business—figuring out marketing strategies that actually convert, navigating regulations, and learning how to scale sustainably while maintaining a high-end, personalized experience.
That said, those challenges have pushed me to become more adaptable, creative, and intentional with how I run my business. Every obstacle has helped shape Sunflower Wellness and Hydration into what it is today, and I think that resilience is a big part of the story.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Sunflower Wellness and Hydration?
Sunflower Wellness and Hydration is a mobile, concierge-style wellness and aesthetics practice based in Kansas. We bring treatments directly to our clients—whether that’s their home, office, or event—so they can receive high-quality care in a setting that’s comfortable, private, and convenient. Our core services include IV hydration therapy, Jeuveau wrinkle relaxer treatments, dermal fillers, and wellness offerings like NAD+ and weight management support.
What really sets us apart is the combination of medical expertise and a luxury, personalized experience. Every treatment is performed by a board-certified nurse practitioner, and we take a very intentional, relationship-focused approach with our clients. It’s not about rushing through appointments—it’s about understanding each person’s goals and creating a plan that helps them look refreshed, feel energized, and maintain long-term wellness.
We’re also known for making aesthetics and wellness feel more approachable. By being fully mobile, we remove a lot of the barriers that come with traditional clinics—no waiting rooms, no rushed visits, and no one-size-fits-all approach. It’s truly care designed around the client’s lifestyle.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how we’ve been able to create something that feels both elevated and genuine. From the patient experience to the visual identity, everything is designed to feel warm, professional, and high-end without being intimidating. At the end of the day, I want everybody to know that Sunflower Wellness and Hydration is about helping people feel confident, cared for, and supported—both inside and out.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I’ve definitely had a lot of support along the way, and I don’t think any business is built alone. My husband, Jeff, has played a huge role behind the scenes. He’s been instrumental in helping with the website, marketing strategy, and overall business development, but just as importantly, he’s been my biggest cheerleader. Starting and growing a business comes with a lot of uncertainty, and having someone who constantly supports and believes in the vision has made a huge difference.
I’ve also been fortunate to have supportive friends, family, and early clients who trusted me and helped spread the word. Those first clients are incredibly important—they take a chance on you, and their feedback and referrals help build the foundation of the business.
In addition, my background in healthcare has introduced me to mentors and colleagues who have shaped how I practice and care for patients. Their guidance helped me build the confidence to branch out on my own while maintaining a strong clinical foundation.
Overall, it’s been a combination of personal support, professional mentorship, and loyal clients that has helped Sunflower Wellness and Hydration grow into what it is today.
