Today we’d like to introduce you to Stedmond Ware Michael McJunkin.
Hi Stedmond Ware, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We started WareMoore from a very simple place, wanting to create something meaningful that brought people together. The name itself is personal to us, combining our mothers’ maiden names, so from the beginning, this wasn’t just about business, it was about legacy, family, and intention.
In the early days, we were just experimenting with beaded bracelets, learning as we went, and showing up at local events around Kansas City. What stood out to us almost immediately was that people weren’t just interested in buying bracelets, they wanted connection. They wanted pieces that meant something, that told a story, or represented a moment in their lives.
From there, things really started to grow organically. We began doing more pop-ups, markets, and community events, and each one helped us refine not just our products, but our purpose. We leaned into customization, using natural stones and thoughtful design to create pieces that felt personal and intentional.
As demand grew, so did the challenges, managing inventory, traveling for consignment, preparing for dozens of events, and building structure behind the scenes. But each step pushed us to become more focused and more aligned with who we are as a brand.
Today, WareMoore has evolved into more than just a jewelry business. It’s a creative experience rooted in community, expression, and connection. Whether we’re setting up at a local festival, preparing for major moments like summer events and cultural celebrations, or expanding into workshops and new offerings, everything we do still goes back to that original intention—bringing people together and creating something that truly means something.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but honestly, we didn’t expect it to be.
When we first started, we were just figuring things out as we went, buying beads, making bracelets, showing up to events, and hoping people connected with it. And while people did, what came with that was a whole different level of responsibility that we weren’t fully prepared for at the time.
There were moments where we overcommitted, saying yes to too many events, trying to keep up with inventory, and still wanting every piece to feel personal. That balance has probably been one of the hardest things for us. We’ve had late nights, last-minute scrambles before events, and times where we had to learn quickly what works and what doesn’t.
Being in two different places at once has also been a challenge. With opportunities outside of Kansas City, we’ve had to trust other people with our brand and presentation, which isn’t always easy when you care deeply about how things are shown and experienced.
And then there’s just the mental side of it, figuring out what’s next, making decisions without always knowing if they’re the “right” ones, and learning how to grow without losing what made us start in the first place.
But through all of that, we’ve stayed grounded in each other and in why we started. Every challenge has taught us something, and it’s helped us grow not just as a business, but as partners and as people.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At its core, WareMoore is about connection. We create beaded jewelry, but what we’re really building is a space where people can express themselves, feel seen, and walk away with something that actually means something to them.
We specialize in custom, intentional pieces, primarily using natural stones and curated color combinations. A lot of what we’re known for is the experience we bring to it. When people come to our table or interact with us, it’s not just “pick a bracelet and go.” There’s conversation, there’s storytelling, there’s a moment behind it. People will share why they’re choosing certain colors or stones, who it’s for, or what it represents, and we get to be a part of that.
What really sets us apart is that personal touch. We’re not mass-producing, we’re creating with people, not just for them. Even at larger events, we try to keep that same energy where every interaction feels intentional.
Brand-wise, we’re most proud of how WareMoore feels. People come back, they bring others, they remember us, and that means more than anything. It tells us that what we’re building goes beyond the product.
We’ve also been able to grow into more than just selling bracelets. We’re stepping into hosting beading experiences, workshops, and collaborating with different spaces to bring creativity and community together in new ways. That’s something we’re really excited about.
What we want people to know is that WareMoore is for everyone. Whether you’re coming to create something personal, support the brand, or just stop by and connect, we’ve built this with intention, and we want people to feel that the moment they experience it.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Something we’d really love for readers to know is that WareMoore is not just a brand, it’s a reflection of our relationship, our families, and the life we’re building together.
We’re Stedmond and Michael, partners in business and in life, and one of the most meaningful parts of WareMoore is where the name comes from. “WareMoore” is a combination of our mothers’ maiden names. That was intentional from the very beginning, it was our way of honoring the women and the foundations that helped shape who we are. It keeps us grounded and reminds us that what we’re building is bigger than just us.
Our journey into this hasn’t been traditional. We’ve grown through experience, through trial and error, and through simply showing up, together. Every event, every bracelet, every conversation has been a part of that growth. And because of that, WareMoore has become something that really represents our shared values: love, creativity, resilience, and community.
And now, our story is continuing to evolve, we’re getting married in October 2026, which makes this journey even more special. We’re not just building a business, we’re building a life, and WareMoore sits right at the center of that.
So when people support WareMoore, they’re not just supporting a small business, they’re supporting a story, a partnership, and a vision rooted in family, legacy, and love.
