Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Haake.
Hi Christopher, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Web Force KC was founded from the combined experience of many companies that did not offer the services and personalized marketing strategies that we wanted to provide.
We grew weary of large companies taking advantage of the fact that some business owners knew little about web design and online marketing.
I wanted Web Force KC to help businesses/organizations understand what we do, why we do it, and how it can help them grow.
I had worked for numerous marketing/ad agencies previously; however, they always seemed to operate in their own best interests, rather than those of their clients. I was put off by the lack of exclusivity and loyalty from the agency side, so I chose a different path.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
To put it mildly, no. With any new endeavor or adventure, there will be times when you find yourself at the crossroads of chaos. While one may be smooth, paved, and otherwise a fun ride, the path less traveled was typically where I went with Web Force KC.
When I first started, there were times when if the client I was meeting with did not pay me for my services, I simply did not have enough gas or money to make it home. These were hard lessons that helped me understand that not everyone is a “good fit” for what I do. Overall, the main lesson was learning that saying “yes” to anyone and everyone who wanted a website or online marketing in general was not a solid growth strategy.
As Web Force KC has grown, bigger problems have emerged, yet they still share a simple similarity: a guy with a laptop trying to promote a business the right way.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Web Force KC operates on the principle that we learn about the businesses we promote online, and that the business owners we work with should understand how we think, what we do, and how that translates into potential growth for their organization. The “smoke and mirrors” approach to marketing is a dream long dead, and good riddance. It has wasted enormous amounts of money and time since the internet became a viable tool for businesses.
We partner with businesses because we enjoy helping them grow, and companies tend to partner with Web Force KC because they’ve tried all of the cookie-cutter solutions that simply do not work.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Getting my first computer and electric guitar. Both are creative outlets, but serve different purposes in my life.
