Daily Inspiration: Meet Tina Burch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Burch.

Hi Tina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to the Kansas City area from Louisiana after spending 12 years mastering the art of permanent makeup. In 2012, I opened Let’s Face It with nothing more than my experience, my passion, and a deep desire to help women feel beautiful and confident.

What started as a one‑woman studio has grown into something I could have never imagined. Today, in 2026, Let’s Face It is home to six licensed artists, six apprentices, and a thriving training academy. I’ve trained hundreds of artists and licensed dozens more across the Kansas City area — many of whom now run their own studios or teach others. Watching them succeed has become one of the most rewarding parts of my career.

I’ve always loved the artistry of permanent makeup, but I discovered something even more meaningful along the way: the joy of sharing my knowledge and empowering others to build careers they’re proud of. Our studio is filled with strong, supportive women who lift each other up, celebrate each other’s wins, and grow together. That culture is the heartbeat of Let’s Face It.

My journey hasn’t been perfect or easy, but it’s been worth every step. I’m excited to share more of my story in hopes that it inspires others to take a chance on themselves, trust their talent, and build something beautiful — not just for their clients, but for their future.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building Let’s Face It has been incredibly rewarding, but it hasn’t come without challenges. One of my biggest personal struggles has been staying healthy and maintaining the stamina required to run a growing business year after year. On the operational side, finding the right people to trust — from front desk support to a CPA, accountant, website developer, attorney, and insurance partners — took time, patience, and a lot of trial and error.

As the business expanded, I also faced the realities of growth: ensuring client satisfaction across all personality types, managing different expectations, and navigating practical issues like limited parking and not having enough space for my team to work comfortably. Each challenge stretched me, taught me something new, and ultimately helped shape the leader I am today

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I like to think of myself as a true specialist in every area of permanent makeup. My foundation in the beauty industry runs deep — both of my parents were lifelong cosmetologists who also owned and operated a beauty school. Their passion shaped me, and I followed in their footsteps, working as a cosmetologist for 20 years before transitioning fully into permanent makeup.

That background gives me a unique advantage. I understand hair, skin, color theory, products, and the full spectrum of beauty services, and I often find myself giving clients advice that goes far beyond brows, lips, or eyeliner. My attention to detail and my ability to tailor each service to the individual sitting in my chair is something I take great pride in.

Another thing that truly sets me apart is my ability to correct work done elsewhere. Over the years, I’ve become the person clients turn to when they need help fixing someone else’s mistakes — whether it’s color correction, shape adjustment, or complete restoration. Being able to restore confidence for those clients is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
At the core of everything I do is the Golden Rule: treating others the way I would want to be treated. This principle guides how I work with clients, how I train students, and how I build my team. In an industry that relies so heavily on trust, communication, and personal connection, leading with kindness and respect makes all the difference.

This mindset has shaped the culture at Let’s Face It. It’s helped me create a team environment where people feel valued, supported, and encouraged to grow. Whether I’m mentoring an apprentice, correcting a client’s previous work, or helping someone navigate a challenge, I try to approach every situation with empathy, patience, and the same level of care I would hope to receive.
