Today we’d like to introduce you to Rodney Whittington.
Hi Rodney, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a licensed nursing home administrator for 27 years. I graduated from KSU in 1999. I have operated, consulted with and helped nursing homes across the country for years. I have a consulting company method healthcare and have written a book. I am writing my second book now. I would like to share my experience on a very relevant topic….aging. 10,000 people are turning 80 each day when the average life expectancy is less than that. I want to educate people on all things aging, effect change on payment for this care and increase awareness and understanding.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Long term care is the most regulated industry in the world. It is filled with doubt, frustration, fear, 60 minutes episodes, etc. It is hard, every day.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
I am the most “productive” preceptor of new nursing home administrators in KS. I love to teach and help people out.
